I agree with you on the EVA. I much prefer cork if it's good cork. Most cork grips (especially on cheaper rods) are full of filler. It's fine at first but after some use it starts to fall out. I think I prefer foam over ratty grips with chunks missing. It's kind of a no win situation though.

Everybody loves cork but hates when rod prices go up, can't have it both ways. EVA is much cheaper than cork, that's why so many rod companies are using it now.- Duckett Or Tatula (Cranking Rod)
Actually, there is a 7'7" Tatula cranking rod. It is also my understanding that Daiwa will be unveiling a glass cranking rod in the Tatula line up at Icast. Normally glass rods are better suited for deeper cranking. They may also release other new Tatula rods as well.- Summer Clothing

I collect them in an old plastic lure box, once the box is full I tape it up really well and throw it away. If I just have one or two hooks I will use snips and cut the points off so they can't poke anyone.- Pros On The Forum

They also make some inflatable air bladder supports. I have a buddy who used them for a couple of years, worked great. They did end up denting the roof of his car though. Don't do the butt wrap. It's supposed to be a nice, happy gesture between you and a friend, don't allow yourself to have a second of resentment over it. Your friend will be thrilled either way.- H2O Xpress Quality?
I can really only speak to their crankbaits, I've been using them for years. They are well made, have durable paint jobs with great patterns and decent components. You won't find a better $4 hard bait anywhere. I've heard mixed reviews on some of their other stuff but I've never personally used their jigs, spinnerbaits, hooks, rods or reels.- 6:4:1 Gear Ratio.....ugh?!!!
Sometimes they just slap at topwater baits and don't actually get the hooks in their mouths well. You aren't going to catch every fish that bites, especially on topwater baits.- New Hooks For Lc Sammy?
I usually use Owner ST36's in a size 4 on Sammy 100's. I don't like EWG trebles on topwater baits.- Found Two Lures In Water Today, Need Help Identifying.

Durability isn't something I ever worry about when using a great bait. I'm perfectly happy getting one fish per bait, especially if I feel like the bait is drawing more strikes than another bait would.
