I have haven't had many bites lately, but the ones that I have had have been from presenting tube baits and senkos slowly. I hear this a lot, but i feel that it is true...If you think you are fishing it slow enough slow down even more.

Hey guys, I went smallmouth fishing for the first time today on the New River near Blacksburg, VA. I didn't catch anything, but then again I didn't expect to. With wind chill I think it was something like 17 when we got out there. It was the first time I have had my guides freeze while fishing. But, my real question pertains to tube fishing. I believe the bottom of the river was rocky. When the tube is on the bottom bouncing around with the current does it feel like little bites. I was thinking that it was going into little cracks in the the rocks and just feeling like little bites, but sometime it felt like a pretty hefty tug. Any ideas or knowledge from experience would help. Thanks guys

Everyone is really friendly at mine, always asking if i've gotten any bites. I found mine through a friend who was golfing and saw a bunch of surface breaks and took me there one afternoon.

What is you favorite type of line (mono, flouro, braid) to use when you throw a weightless senko or other types of plastics? Also, what size line do you use?
