X2 If you dont like MH I use a M with my gear, and it has worked fine for me. I would say that you should get one with a fast tip. This would be a good all around rod.

What are you New Years fishing resolutions? Mine are to spend less money(on fishing which is where most of the money goes), catch more fish, and either get out on someone's boat or start tube or kayak fishing.

Marine grade speaker are the only way to go. I think that www.crutchfield.com has some good speaker and deals. Good people to do business with. I think they also make marine head units too.

The rod is 6'6" long.

I just received a used rod, and it doesn't have the rod power on it. It is an Allstar WR1 and is weighted for 1/4-1 1/4 lures. I think it might be medium heavy, but I am not really sure. Any help would be great. Merry Christmas

If you are tube fishing a river the current also effects how big of a weight to use. The rule of thumb is to use as light a weight as possible to get it to the bottom.

Welcome to the boards! I would say along with you braid(which should work fine) I would use a Fluoro or Hybrid leader.

I have never used that rod, but I have a President and I think it is a very good reel. Easy to use, and it should last him a while if he continues to fish.
