Frogs and jigs skirts stick together
Rub a small amount of baby powder on them and they will last longer. It will wash off in a cast or two.

Best two piece rod
Anything with a spigot joint is going to be far better than one where the top piece fits over the bottom piece

Regular rod taper question.
My guess would be moderate to moderate fast

Rods and Reels from China
Ok again. Raul had it right. The country where the rod is made has nothing to do with the quality. Quality is all based on the PRODUCT MANAGER. The person who developed the rod or reel had to approve it before it left the factory. Poor quality is the Product Managers fault. Not the factory or the country. A good Product Manager can develop great products in even the worse factory in China if he/she knows what they are doing. Even $1000 megabass rods are made in China. And all Fuji Guides are made in China. That's Racist. Then you would not be able to buy a reel.

Mono vs. Flouro?
There is an industry standard in Japan. They rate braided line by its denier. And the Japanese equivalent of the ASA enforces the ratings. This system allows for a much more scientific approach to strength ratings. Braided line can not be measured in diameter accurately due to it's irregular shape. Denier is a weight based system.

Mono vs. Flouro?
Honestly y'all really got to stop with this Fluoro vs Mono vs Braid vs Copolymer vs what ever else. This is not the way you should think about it. It's all of the above. This whole argument is like saying. Which is better? Soft baits vs hard baits vs wire baits. The answer is they are all tools to use when the situation calls. You need them all.

Can we talk about finesse Casting rigs?
Abu has much better spinning reels now. They got a new engineer in Japan a few years back and put a ton of money into it. I meant years ago when they were just selling of the shelfers. The first gen Revo spinning reels were of the shelfers but any of the ones released in the last 3 years are good.

Regular blanks from Japanese rods
Daiwa America develops their own rods and reels. It's not really a Japanese Brand. Same with Shimano. So hard to tell. But JDM (real Japanese rods) tend to be slower than US Rods.

RC STX new manufacturer???
If the colors changed the switched factories and the new factory is having issues matching the color that or they use a low quality factory in China. Yes there are high quality factories in China.

Can we talk about finesse Casting rigs?
I own a LTX. It's good. Has a shallow spool. Revo premier. Just as good. Bait Finesse as they call it in Japan is a 6'4" to 6'10" Light power fast action rod. Abu Garcia started Bait Finesse in Japan be cause they have crappy spinning reels.

Line options
Nanofil. It's not very abrasion resistant but it fits all the things you listed.

When do you try a never used lure?
I use new lures exclusively. Don't have a choice. Have to test, evaluate or compare. You learn a lot about fish and fishing when you are outside your comfort zone. I don't believe the bite is ever on or off. It's not that they are not active. I've learned it's more that I have not found where they are active. Just look at tournaments. Someone is always catching them somewhere.

Line Identification
Use the lighter trick. Nylon when burnt will stay some what clear. Fluoro will be black.

Soft plastics in bags or tackle box?
PVC (most brands) and TPE (Zman and a few other brands) have Chemical reactions with ABS and PET and even more so with each other you will notice that if you place a ribbed or or textured bait in a box that comes in contact with UV light or even in a bag for that matter the baits get melted or the box. It's not the heat. PVC is stable well above 100 degrees. The UV light facilitates a faster chemical reaction between the two plastics. Soft baits should be kept in a vinyl composite bag (the original) or a in a ziplock bag. Never ever ever mix a TPE bait and a PVC Bait

Hair/bucktail jig rod?
I throw my Micro Jigs on a 7' ML Bait Casting Rod. I use trailers so I get to about 1/4 or 5/16 in weight. A 7' ML Spinning would work too. Any lighter than an 1/8oz I'd go with a light.

help on starting a tackle business
Hi Garrett. I'm a lure designer for a tackle company. I have Developed 20-25 shapes since I have been in the industry. Worked with a few companies over the years. I just happened into the industry. Knew a guy who knew a brand who needed help … like I mentioned before, you'll need about 150k to start an actual Tackle Company. My suggestion is work for a big brand. Two majors that can help you are Product Management and or Fishery Research and Biology. That is what most "Lure Designers" are. 3D Industrial Design is a good skill to have. You need to be able to turn your ideas into 2D technical drawings at the very least. Note pad sketches is a good place to start but will not get you a job. It's fun job. But once you work for a fishing company you'll never have time to fish for fun again.
