  1. Glass rods stop shaking when the bait does. I find glass rods much more effective at transmitting info when it comes to bites than graphite rods do. However graphite rods tell me more about what's on the bottom like shell beds and rocks. So I use composite rods. The best of both worlds. Look reel hard at the Dobyns line or wait till the new Varitas crank rods come out. I here Ike had a big roll in their development.
  2. All of the Berkley Havoc creature baits float. I would use the devil spear or pit boss.
  3. "MUSKOGEE, Okla. — BASS is considered the most prestigious organization in tournament Bass fishing. This is due, in part, to the strict rules and high standards that Elite Series Pros must adhere to if they want to compete at the sport's highest level. BASS has strict guidelines regarding practice and information. Specifically, there is an off limits period for the month prior to each tournament which specifies that anglers may not be on tournament waters 30 days prior to the start of the tournament, with the exception of the three official practice days they have immediately preceding each tournament. "Additionally, anglers may not receive, seek or solicit any inside info on tournament waters during the off limits period or tournament days. While they are allowed to confer with fellow Elite Series Pros, they may not discuss the fishery with locals, buddies, or even family, and once cut weights are announced on Friday and Saturday, they may not even discuss fishing on tournament waters with other Elite Series Pros that finished outside the cut." http://www.bassmaster.com/news/tough-want-it-tougher
  4. I'm sorry but I have read every Bassmaster magazine online, Watched every classic, every elite series event. Check every tourney news website twice a day for years and have never heard KVD gets info from Toyota guides. First of all this would be a violation of the 30 day no info rule which states it is illegally to get any information other than publicly accessible info like public websites from any source 30 days before the tournament. So if some one was fishing for him and giving him info it would be month old news. So it wouldn't make a bit of difference.
  5. They may not be as strong. But I'm sorry it is there. Even the amount of scent from bait to bait in the power bait line is different strengths. But I'm sorry you can't say there is no power bait smell to these baits. At lest the ones I have anyway.
  6. You can't tell if any bait is crap or not until you have USED it. Don't care what brand it is. By the way, why do they say these baits don't have power bait scent? The smell like PowerBait to me.
  7. They float. To be honest all the havoc baits except the grass pig float. Think it's cause they use bio salts. Anyway they float better then they power shaky worms.
  8. I have fished and owned all brands of reels. Shimano, Daiwa, Quantum and so on and so on. I used to not like Revos for a silly reason of not owning one and only handling those that belong to friends. Now I have 2 SX and two STX reels. I can't speak for the older versions but the new STX is the most set and forget reel I have. Just set two of the centerfugal breaks, put the mag breaks at 40% and loosen the cast control all the way. Cast as hard as you can and never place your thumb on the spool even after your bait hits the water and no backlas for me. But that's just me. I only own one other reel that can do this and that is my quantum tour pt.
  9. It is in cases like this when the real anglers are separated from the weekend trend followers..I don't buy any bait because of who's name is on it I buy a bait based on action and action alone. If you didn't see what I saw in the spear in five seconds then by all means please don't use them and if you don't know what makes the craw fatty special and if you haven't seen the difference in action then by all means don't buy them ... Leaves more for me
  10. trick worms don't float
  11. T-Tail Shad
  12. top Candy Corn (greanpumpkin, orange red halloween.) bottom Gilly Suit

  14. it seems to come around a lot lately. Montana Jordan Woods Gretzky Ryan KVD That's a living legend giant in almost every sport during my life time and that list could be much longer
  15. Yes Kevin is good but I'm starting to feel bad for the other really good anglers who will be overlooked and forgotten from the history books due to his dominance
  16. X2 x3 - While "stretchy" to some, that is actually what I like about it. then why not just use mono?
  17. HAHA yea that's weak alright..........NOT!!!!.. Nice stuff ya got there but i gotta ask ..WHAT IS UP with that handle on the reel 2nd row from right 2nd from bottom????? That thing looks freaky ;D it's a power handle. most all SW reels have those here it's really a cheap reel ($85) I have never used it ;D
  18. You all watched the video and if you didn't see what was special about a few of them then don't buy them leaves more bass for me to catch. ;D
  19. The Reel Collection ( I know pretty weak nothing exciting)
  20. First off "conglomerates" will never eat all the little guys of this industry. Anglers, my self included will buy or try any bait from anyone if it means gaining an edge in a tourny or catching bigger and more fish. Having something unique, special, secret, unknown is the heart of the bait monkey. If anything it will cause more popularity for these baits which means those in the know will start to look for the next big unknown while Sebile becomes just another bait on the shelf. this industry is very unique in the fact no matter how big Pure or Pradco or Rapala become they will never put the indie's out of business. They will just make the former owners very rich. Your post are very political, sounds like you might have an ax to grind. The point of my post was simply to inform not discus capitalism. Glenn or J, I think it is time to put Irene to sleep. ;D
  21. Revo LTX/MGX 7.9:1 32" High speed gear ratio and only 5.4oz!!!!!!!!!!!! gotta learn more about this reel Look out pixy here comes LTX haha
  22. storm maybe under rated in most of the country but a WW is probably the most thrown bait on table rock lake in MO during the cold months there are even stores that still carry the originals in original colors new in box and they go for like 20 bucks a pop
