  1. it was ... I paid 40$ for the reel on sale and $50.53 in US currency on the handle. Most of my reals are Shimanos and I saw the handle last week and thought it was to good of a deal not to buy and didn't feel right putting it on a shimano reel so my old BPS Extremes got a face lift
  2. They sell them at any Abu Dealer here in Korea
  3. It's like night and day.... it feels twice as smooth and much more sound
  4. I figured since I don't have any Abu reels and the revos and extremes are made at the same OEM it would be ok to do this.... made an old reel i don't use ch anymore a little more appealing Abu Garcia carbon fiber handle and aluminum knobs (JDM, less than 60 bucks two barrings in each KNOB!!! unbelievable) BPS Extreme
  5. Dobyns Champion series 704 CB Glass best crankbait rod ever made.

Date: 1/20/02 Tackle type: Rod Manufacturer: Shakespeare Reviewer: Zander Total Score: 8.58 Introduction: The one and only Ugly Stik by Shakespeare is still the top selling rod series of all time. We take a look at this veteran to see just what makes this rod so popular. ;D ;D ;D
  7. take it to a dealer ... give them 60 bucks and get a new rod .... the end
  8. a ton for worm and jig rods .... moving bait rods not so much... that said I used to be like you then i bought my first name brand 100$ plus rod and have yet to spend less than that since nore will I... a 100 $ is now my lowend rod

  10. Split Grip or Full Grip whats your preference? How does the grip effect your purchase decision?
  11. I'm in Incheon.....we were out watching the world cup match ... my phone battery died.... There is really only three rod companys I would buy from Korea JS Company, Damiki and SM Tech.... You can also buy Dobyns Rods here which is best... I'll give ya a call tomorrow....
  12. Where in south Korea are you fist of all... second stop buying NS Black hole it's a wast of money unless you spend over 300,000 won Third we need to meet up and talk... feel free to call me 010 4914 3060 Fourth Winch/Premier Crankbait rod deep cranks Berkley Shock /Daiwa Zillion jig BPS Tourney Special/BPS Tourney Series spinner Surecatch Tournament XP/Diawa Megaforce w/bar 7.1:1 worms NS Blackhole Hurricane/Abu Garcia Silvermax shallow cranks and small baits
  13. About 2 g's worth. not that much really
  14. what lengths and Action do you all prefer for Spinner baits
  15. Love? Bucoo 7' MH /CitcaE I have 3 dobyns rods but have not had them long enough to call it love
  16. Randy McAbee designed the 8ft cranking rod, he's a deep cranking mad man. He designed it to have a slightly longer handle. Not sure if it's a full 3" difference, but I do know it's a bit longer. I just checked my 705 and 765 CB Rods and they have the same length handle. So it's just the 805 that's slightly longer. I use my 705CB for ripbaits, so the longer handle would probably do more harm then good for me. I got monkey arms so maybe thats it... I think 16" from nut to butt would be a great all around leangth for just about anything on a moving bait rod ... but hey a rod can't be 100% perfect now can it ;D
  17. hey david is it just me or is that handle on the champion series cranking rods about three inches to short... great rod... love it.. just wish the 705 had a bit more handle... I wish it had the handle of the 8'er
  18. after you get that rod and match it with that reel you will wish you had that 80 bucks back from that vendetta to go towards another Bucoo... just for warning to original: match what ever you want... it's your money but some rods will balance better with in house reels .... they design them that way
  19. Just curious what you all prefer Which is better ACS ECS TCS or the skeleton how big of a part does the reel seat play in your rod purchase?
  20. It's just graphite not gold friend the stuff is cheap id love for one poster to be able to confirm that price. So your calling me a liar then. would you like to see a confidential Invoice from a manufacture in order to belive it? don't think anyone could come up with that. think about it. A 600$ rod has a 15$ blank well a 100$ rod probably has a $2.50 blank so your 600$ is still 6x the cost of a 100$ rod Believe it or not it's true I don't think you are a liar. I just think you are mistaken. x2 you would think by now i would be smart enough to stay out of these threads. well thanks for not calling me a liar .... but I'm not mistaken either. take it or leave it that's up to you

  22. It's just graphite not gold friend the stuff is cheap I just found a site that says they sell a ton of Graphite for $2,500 and it costs them 15$ per ton in expenses now that's just the mark up on the commodity it's self
  23. That's a heck of a lot more than $15! why are you so offended by the fact blanks cost little to make? the whole point of production is to lower the cost. Think about it Dobyns and many other companies have a replacement rod fee. of 60... I would bet my last dollar that's the cost they are buying those rods for from the OEM. So how much does a Champion Cost? The people who sell the graphite to the OEM gotta make a 200% profit then the guys that spin the blanks gotta make a 200 % profit then they guys who build the rod gotta make a 200% profit then the guy who sells the rod has to make a 200% profit then the retailer and so on until it leaves the store and then it goes backwards
  24. oem manufacturing cost 15$ the look on the anglers face who paid 600$ for a 15$ blank pricless
