  1. Jigs are a structure and Cover tool ... most shallow ponds don't have eather of these. I agree with the other fellas.. try swiming a jig over submerged vegies or use a grass jig (pointed jig head) I prefure tubes to jigs in your situation.. close to same presintation.. close to same profie and close to same color options... if you get really good at flipin and pitchin tubes... you can aplly that same confidence on to a jig when you hit water with rocky points, docks and laydowns
  2. My name is Will and I fish my home lakes most of the time. I live in a lake community that has 6 small lakes ranging from 135 acres to 3 I'm exclusively a Large-Mouth Angler I grew up at the Lake of the Ozarks and have been Bass Fishing for 24 years caught my first one at age 5 Been getting in to tournament fishing locally lately and have placed 3rd twice and big fish once... I'm headed to Korea soon and hope to become a KSA pro
  3. I love the smell of chompers.... woooweeee. i was fishin those one day and lake patrol rolled by and asked my if i was eatin garlic bread for lunch... i just laughed and said no but the bass are
  4. i'm a smoker so i use scent on all my baits to get my stink off them... i use Yum shad scent on all my hard baits...cheap oil based and better than nothing... a also spray a bit in my crank bait box at the end of each trip...they come out smellin fishy and the oil keeps the water left in the box from messin with my hooks
  5. I dunno I like a 3/O hook for a 5" worm, don't have many issues with hookups, as for the scent, *** has a good scent on their worms. Or you could buy a tube of mega strike, which I absolutely love, I grind it into all my jig and spinnerbait skirts. For worms and soft plastics... JJ's Magic the clear (unless you want to dye it) without a doubt. If your married... don't open JJ's in the house or your wife will come into your fishing room and think your cooking spaghetti. aggred 2\0 for a 4" worm is good 2/o for 6" worm... i say it's to small for a t rig.. also.. game fish hit baits in different ways.. bgills strike in what i call the machine gun tick. bass give a tap tap or nothing at all ... the cats thud'in run
  6. I have 2 magnums... they are all right... i cath more fish on my spit-in image poppers though... idk not much of a popper guy... i work the walking baits way more than poppers for big bass... spooks sammys and so on
  7. never tried th seagar... i use the BPS XPS... but would like to find something cheaper than 20 bucks a spool... any one tried sun?
  8. yeah ...really looking forward to some quality time with it out on the water... was so impressed with how light and balanced it is.
  9. lmao, you're kidding, right? Have you fished with a steez rod? I have the 7 mh and I can honestly say the mojo feels just like it except for the cork handle. except the steez is like 3oz lighter and way more sensitive
  10. Just because a rod (or anything else for that matter) is made in the states does not mean it is better then something made over seas... expecially those made in asian countries... Asians are super anal and the job market is extreamly competitive... work 12 hours a day 6 days a week for crap pay... but take extreme pride in what they do... quality is quality regardless of where it's made... take it from a guy who has worked lots of manufacturing jobs here in the states and seen many o peice of crap roll out the door it's not funny
  11. Mine are associated around line... I fish certain lines for certain situations... if the bait can be fished on this line then I'll switch it... how can you tie on a top-water plug to reel with Fluoro on it?
  12. CASTING GEAR Cranking stick 5.2:1 10-14 # Floro Pitching stick 6.3:1 50 # Braid Spinner Bait stick 7.0:1 15 # Floro Top water stick 6.4:1 20 # Mono Soft plastic stick 6.3:1 17 # Floro SPINNING GEAR Finnese Stick 6-8 # Floro
  13. they make plenty of low profile reels that can handle the biggest fish...there are a lot of reels with drags in the 10 -22 pound range out there
  14. All right... I called all the tackle shops in the area and BPS was the only one who had a BuCoo and they had 1.... i walked around the store for hours playing with every rod in there... the Bucoo has got to be the most balenced rod under 200 dollars and more balanced then some over 200. When you hold the rod there is little to no, tip heavy pull on your rist... all the st crox rods pulled... i was so impreased with the bucoo that i bought it.. i'll be ordering the second one tomorrow... i also bought a CI200E cause there so lite... it's like a match made in heaven... thanks so much for all the advice and the next time i'm in the states.. i'll prool buy a pair of Gblanks too. I pitched for an hour straight with this lite combo and my wrist isn't sore at all. With the BuCoo and the CI200E.. total weight is less than 12 oz .. just awesome
  15. there are like 4 dicks a cabelas a bass pro and a lot of other places near bye.. dicks is over priced... and basspro and cabelas don't carry half of what companies offer... look at the difference in reel and rod selection of the high end brands from bass pro to tackle warehouse and you will see what i mean..
  16. how long do they take? i only have 8 days.
  17. So what were your impressions... did they feel wimpy or strong... did you actually get to seat a reel on one to feel the balance? what where your thoughts?
  18. these rods got pretty good reviews in Tackle tours year of the crank... http://www.***.com/descpageCRODDAM-DDAC.html#
  19. south Korea has a small pro circuit called KSA
  20. Comming back to Korea in two weeks.. love to meet and hog seek with some of you. respond and lets get together
  21. yeah... I'm a huge damiki fan... i wouldn't buy a 2 piece rod though for Bass fishing... but the Dark Angel and Angel blade look great. when i get to Korea i plan on trying to get a job with them... i would buy them right now but they are cheaper in Korea. so i'll wait till i get there... Everyone here should be on the look out of this brand they have made a hudge splash at ICAST for the last 2 years
  22. the first three i mentioned i have handled in the store. the mojo was my least fav of the three and the prodigy just seemed a little flimsy... i have yet to see the bucoo... i do really want split grips though.. for me the split grip is about comfort.. like BSP power hump but with out the weight of super thick cork.
  23. in the weeds... yes use braid... out of the weeds i wouldn't
  24. ... to be honest though ... each of the baits you use really need different lines... How do you fish the senko? in a finesse presentation 6-8 pound Fluoro... Crank baits. 15-10# Fluoro depending on how deep you want to fish them. Flukes.. How do you fish them? on top? then you wanna use mono and can get away with line up to 20# test. spinners same as cranking plugs
