  1. I just found a place here in Korea that sells the whole line of dark angle rods for 100$ each (normaly you can only find the 6'3"M & MH, that they don't sell in the states) all of the rods are 100$ even the 8' swimbait rod... is it a good enough rod to warrent buying all 5 of the rods I want in one shot before they change thier price??? I have not fished it yet so i'm looking for sugestions from those who own them thanks... c701m, c701mh, c701h, c761m-cb, c801-sw
  2. here is the link to the Korean language version... for those who can't speak Korean... it has many more reels than the english version and the all look familiar to me http://www.banax.co.kr/pro/pro0101.asp?ct=1&cm=2
  3. I have a friend who works at the Incheon Banax Factory and he says they make pure fishing reels.... i might have to ask him to take me on a tour... But banax is the largest and best renowned reel company in Korea.... their own line is all manufactured in the plant in China... the only stuff they produce in incheon is OEM's for other companies. Maybe the two companies are related or my friend is blowing smoke up my arse.. but he said he could get me an employee discount on any pure fishing reel I wanted... but i don't like pure fishing.. but I am buying all of the Banax Bait-caster line just for the collection
  4. Ever fish with a J/M Elite? At full retail you can't find more rod per $$ even at $200. UH I think if i was going to spend 200 on a rod i would buy a Shimano Cumara way before i ever thought about a jm elite... sic guides lifetime warranty, and super hard to beat at any price point... no if the jm elite went on sale for like 100 bucks i would think about it... So you have not fished with one I take it? No I have not due to the fact as i stated before. I would not spend 200$ on a BPS rod or reel... there are about 10 rods i would buy before i ever thought about it...but i have handled them and couldn't tell much difference from the PQ but no i have not fished them There isn't a rod at that price point better. Not to be a jerk but if you couldn't notice any difference between the PQ and the Elite, I'll have to ignore you opinion on this one. The Elite is 'Clearly' more sensitive and much lighter just from an in store inspection. here is a review from some stranger off of the bass pro web site... oh and sorry i didn't know you where a fishing rod expert who can throw out others thoughts like yesterdays trash..Best Rod I've Owned, August 26, 2009 By CrackCorn17 from Oklahoma City (read all my reviews) Reviewer Images (click to see full-size image) Advantages: Ease of use, Performs well, Quality, Style/Design "I just purchased this rod after having my Johnnie Morrie Elite Series rod snap in half on me. I absolutely love this rod. It is a lot more sensitive than my old rod and i love the fact that it has a split grip on it. It took me a little while to get used to it because i had never messed with a rod like it but once i got used to it i love it. I also love that when u hold the rod ur hand is on the blank which makes it veryy sensitive. It is a little pricey but i definetely think its worth the money." What is your favorite type of fishing?: Freshwater How many times a month do you fish on average?: 5+ Do you own a boat?: No Would you recommend this product as a gift?: Yes
  5. The Korean OEM for those reels is a Korean company called Banax. they were owned by Daiwa in the 80's but became independent. The have there own line of reels here as well.. but pure fishing and Daiwa still produce reels through them
  6. has anyone fished this yet? http://www.***.com/descpageLNESUFFIX-SDCL.html
  7. if your right handed and using a left hand retrieve reel for pitching .. I think it's helpful but whats the point on a right retrieve reel.. you still got to switch hands anyway
  8. Since he said under 120$ I would vote Bucoo... I'm sorry i love these rods... and they are perfectly balanced and super light and fish like a dream.. very sensitive too
  9. bionic down ... china extreme up Korea... and i know who the OEM is ...
  10. I do, The Heddon torpedo was light blue on the head and clear on the tail, matched with a Zebco combo with a pistol grip rod. And yes I still have both as a reminder of how things used to be a whole lot simpler! I was five years old at digger O'dells at the lake of the Ozarks with my dad... i was jigging a white crappie jig off a rail road tie sea wall and caught a little pumpkin-seed sunfish and have been hooked ever since

  13. OK. here is why i will never buy a Revo Reel... 1. The worm gear nut sticks out the bottom of all revo reels and rubs on my fingers the way i like to hold my reels. 2. take a revo reel and try and turn the handle backwards and low and behold about 4 mm of back turn before it stops... Shimanos don't do that... does it make a difference? don't know but i don't like it... 3. My dad still has bantams form the 70's that still work great... i've yet to see an abu reel last over 40 years
  14. I'm sorry but i don't think it can match the Bucoo's in balance and lightness.... I have yet to find a stick for a 100 bucks that comes anywhere close... now if you jumped up 50$ in then yeah better stuff... but if you have ever fished a Bucoo you would be saying the same thing.... I like BPS rods when they are on sale there great rods for 40- 50 bucks... but why would you buy a BPS rod over 100$ when there are so many more options in the high end rod market....????
  15. This is strange to me.. I learned to overhand cast first then side then skip and lastly pitch... when i switched from spinning to casting i just did the same thing i always did...but just used my thumb and cranked down on the cast control....
  16. I have both the 7' H and MH while they are not as stout as other rods. they fish well in there raiting and i fish jigs on my H and fear not... don't know if i would punch mats or fish frogs in the slop on it but it is a great football jig or anything not super dence like laydowns or sparce weed cover or docks.. if your going to the jungle i would not bring the falcon bucoo. but i Love mine they are my favorite rods
  17. What you all are discussing are OEMs Companies that manufacture items for other companies... for instance Pinnacle is an OEM and makes high-end BPS and Pflueger reels, and maybe more... while the low end stuff is produced at an OEM in China... take the BPS line for example... from the extreme up you will notice made in Korea.. from the Bionic down you will notice made in china... all industries use OEMs, Automotive, Musical instruments, Electronics.. ect ... the difference is... it is engineered by the company and produced by the OEM so they are different. between each brand... now if you move to the Pure Fishing gang... they all have the same engineers and but yet follow the same OEM's in Korea and China.... Most high-end stuff is produced in Korea while China produces some high-end and almost all low end stuff. The great thing about being in Korea is I can buy stuff in the KDM made buy the same guys that pump out diawa and high-end Abu stuff with better specs at a lower price because their name is not a global icon
  18. every dime i get that has no traceable source goes to the bait monkey ... and so the wife doesn't know... nor does she take inventory of my gear so ... when something new shows up in the box she has no idea... if she new she would probably be ticked though
  19. if it was me i would buy the damiki dark angel.. you get a great rod at a decent price that got good reviews on TT. and not many people own them yet.... if i had four hundred dollars to spend on rods i would buy two.....don't know why but i always buy in pairs when it comes to rods... i feel like they need a friend or something...
  20. i'm with ya on this i collect and fish ... i enjoy buying a sweet looking crank as much as fishing it... if it catches fish i buy 10 if it doesn't it hangs on the wall eaither way i like them
  21. Most of the time I just see line snapping with this method. It depends on what line you are using. With braid, it usually results in getting your bait back, but the idea is for the line to snap instead of your rod. In some situations you are going to lose your bait, you can't really do anything about it. Your method might work for easy snags but if you get stuck into wood, under a rock, or pierced into lily clumps then that isn't going to work. just be very careful if your bait is not in the water... ie trees or such. i was fishing a night tourny got in a bush and did this and wack crankbait in the forearm . the bait hitting me hurt twice as bad as the hooks did... lol
  22. Yes it will ... Dying weeds remove oxygen from the water they once gave it to so the fish leave.
  23. I am but i like KDM stuff, we get alot of the same stuff as japan does plus stictly kdm stuff too
  24. Do you work for Pinnacle? ;D Seriously, I have an Extant that is probably 4-5 years old and it still performs like new. I'm not hauling in 8-10 pounders every time out either as a 5 pounder is big up here. I'm pretty hard on my stuff and it has held up well. no i just like stuff made in Korea
  25. When fishing any bait with treble hooks you don't cross eye hook set.. just sweep the rod to your strong side and keep pressure and make sure you have your net handy... keep the fish in the water too and make sure you enlarge your split rings... I use a fiberglass graphite composite for all cranking setups... and since i made that switch i have lost far less fish
