Duckett Rods
I was part of a college team that was sponsored by Duckett rods. They are great rods, and really light weight. But remember with light weight rods they are more brittle than your standard rod. Don't rod lift bass over a 2 pounds into the boat. As long as you know the limitations of your rod it will last for many years. I love these rods, but can no longer afford them. There customer service is awesome and they actually answer the phones.

Best Mono
I suggest trying the Trilene XL armor coated note: this line is smoother than XT and Big Game without the memory, yet is just as strong and resistant. It is a little thicker than XL so get a size smaller than you normally would.

? Punching Thru Weeds?
1 1/4 ounce Oldham Eye Max Jig. He designed this jig for penetrating thick grass like hydrilla. http://www.oldhamjigs.com/

Tungsten?
Unless you have the budget for it or are going to start tournament fishing for a living I suggest staying with lead.

Lynch Line
Terry Oldham still sells it along with his jigs. It is not listed on the webpage but if you call they still have it and still sell it. Just wondering if anyone else used it and what they thought about it.

Shimano G Series
Is the only difference between the citica G and the curado G the spool?? what additional stuff is on the chronarch E that isn't on the curado G ? And please don't tell me to look up old E series. I never looked at them and they aren't on shimano web site anymore. Is the citica G better at anything than the curado G, for that matter is the curado G better than the chronarch E at style of fishing?

Lynch Line
Lynch Line was before spiderwire, but it never was sold in major stores or advertised. As far as I know only one person still sells this line and he was the original person to bring it to market as a bass fishing line. That would be Terry Oldham. Was wondering if anyone else used it or still uses it. I am placing an order for some tomorrow.

Lynch Line
Does anyone still use Lynch Line? It is a braided line that started the braid craze a long time ago, if you didn't know.

Budget Rod And Reel
The new Berkley lightning rods are great for a budget rod. I currently have one with a abu black max as my budget rod and reel.
-
Fluorescent Braid
The stren does work with a black light. I love the way it feels and fishes, but I can't find it anywhere. The only way to get it is to order from their site.

Monofilament
thanks guys, always wondered why people do what they do when it comes to fishing so I started asking different questions.

Best Beginner Baitcaster Braid?
I know most people hate spiderwire but they do make a cheap braid for people who are just learning to use braid. It is called EZ Braid. that way you learn how to cast and get used to it and if you destroy the spool you are not out a lot of money. Once you get used to it then get whatever the best at that time is.

Academy H2O Braid
The package says it is three dyneema and three spectra for a total of 6. I was wondering if anyone has used this or heard of this before?
-
Bps Extreme Baitcast Reel
The new ones come with duel braking just like the PQ. I had my extreme with magnetic brakes for six years before I gave it to a friend. It out lasted my pfluegers and my okumas.
-
Monofilament
Who here still uses mono? I am talking about mostly trilene xl or similar types. Why do you continue to use mono and what are its benefits?

Question For Braid Users
Are you throwing crankbaits and other baits with treble hooks on braid? If so are you using a leader of mono or flouro?

Should I Get Another H2O Mettle Or A Black Max?
Daiwa magnetic brakes are nice, I was just comparing the breaking system for him. Most reel makers put magnetic brakes in there cheap reels. Not the same class or type as daiwa but still magnetic.

Should I Get Another H2O Mettle Or A Black Max?
the mettle is a centrifical brake system like the shimanos. The Black Max is magnetic brakes like daiwas or cheaper models of most companies. I have had both and prefer the handles on the black max. Both are cheap and easily disposable. Get which ever one is more comfortable to hold and fish with. Now Everyone else on here is going to tell you to spend $130+ on a good real. I have had those reals and they are nice but I like to get new reals every season so I don't buy them anymore.

Berkley Line
I know many of you only use XL and was hoping to hear from a couple of you about armor coated or what you think about them coming out with a new formula
-
What Fluorescent Line Are You Using
I like the diameter of Senshi, as well as the fact that it has very little memory. But it has no abrasion resistance
-
Berkley Line
did any of you die hard fans of XL or XT try the armor coated? Do any of you plan on trying the new XL or XT?
-
Berkley Line
So last year they introduced XL Armor Coated. This year they introduced a completely new XL and XT. The purpose of XL Armor Coated was to try and transition to only having one line, It was smooth and limp yet stronger and more abrasion resistant than XT. Anyone else perplexed by what they are trying to do?
