  1. Its off topic a little, but Pinnacles new reel comes with lifetime maintenance. That alone shows they are going to stand by the product.
  2. I was thinking of the safety concerns when going 60-70 mph on the lake and reaction time to another boat or debris in the lake.
  3. Some of the elite pros and Earl Bentz.
  4. Will Shimano come out with a 50 size again for any of their reels??
  5. Heard the wired to fish radio show about them trying to get B.A.S.S. to lower the HP limit back to 150 HP. I personally think this would be a good idea and wonder what the rest of you think. It would help lower the cost of fishing and increase safety.
  6. I think this is more for the saltwater fisherman like the hollow core was.
  7. I love them and use them all the time. Never had a problem setting the hook and I use a lot of mono. The stiff brush guards have never hampered my hooksets.
  8. What are your opinions of Okuma Baitcasting reels. They have been around awhile now and have continually improved their line up. I Have had the Citrix and the Cayennes(no longer sold) and loved them. Would really love to hear from some of you guys who do reel repair and have seen them after hard use.
  9. I believe it is the old line formula they used for original XL and XT. They have changed those over to a new forumula.I am not sure and was unable to find anything else out about them. I would just get the new Trilene XL and use that.
  10. So without bashing the braids that don't last. What is your favorite brand of braid? and do you have any tips for braid use?
  11. Fish Chris uses Tuff Line XP and it is White. He has caught giant fish of all species. He has caught 16lb plus largemouth, so I don't think it matters that much.
  12. I just got a new job as the manager of Lakeview Marina. I am wondering if anyone lives in the area and knows a good place to live.
  13. Keep us updated and tell us what brand
  14. Senshi is very thin diameter line. I would use 12 if I was using that line. Trilene just revamped their XL and XT lines, I am going to test the new XT this weekend as I got a free spool. Trilene is a great old stand by for Mono. I would not hesitate to use it.
  15. Ike didn't leave Diawa, they fired him. Abu was only company that would pick him up. His antics and poor sportsmanship on air is probably a major contributing factor. Though he is a nice guy and a great instructor.
  16. Lews, Abu, BPS, Pfluegar are all made in same factorys in Korea and now some in China. they are each there own specs and individual brands, but yes most parts are interchangable.
  17. Just hope they don't hire the people that work at the other dicks stores. Every Dicks store I have ever been to has had horrible customer service and nobody who worked in the hunting fishing department had a clue.
  18. I think it is a fantastic reel to learn on and to use. I have one on my car rig that goes everywhere. Only other reel I would consider in price range would be the Academy H20 Mettle two different brake systems.
  19. They are good rods, though they are a little heavier than the more expensive rods. Nothing wrong with them.
  20. The two older models were fantastic and outlasted many of my other reels with minimal maintenance. I do know that the new one has the enigma cast control and magnetic braking, I think this is too much braking. But if you like it buy it. If you don't you can always take it back to bps and get the pro qualifier or carbonlight or jm

Berkley did studies and made powerbait. Berkley then made Gulp. Now they make Havoc, which does not have any scent.
  22. Berkley made Powerbait Berkley made Gulp Now they make Havoc, a nonscented plastic what does that tell us?
  23. I would like to know the history of nitro boats before they were bought by Tracker marine. I was told that it used to be an East Texas boat company.
  24. While on a tight school budget your best bet is to buy used or if you live near an academy get the H2O mettle reel. Then get a cheap berkley lightning rod. this will suffice till you graduate or get more money. As for two piece rods, well there aren't any good ones. My budget set up I keep in my vehicle is a abu black max and a berkley lightning rod.
