what were you using to catch those brutes? what size hook are you using?

I have not tried the new line up. I do have 3 cayennes that they no longer carry. There customer service is fantastic. Anytime I had a problem I just called them up and they would go out of there way to help me out.

Though some will disagree with this rule, I believe that it is good for the majority. Making this place a more respectable and enjoyable forum is part of the evolution that has kept this forum running with such high numbers for so long. I applaud the moderators for continuing to make this the best forum and keeping it respectable at the same time.

Ya'll should try the new Alpha Jig by Perfect Strike when fishing heavy cover. I fish it in and out of trees and brush-piles all the time without ever getting hung up. It goes through heavy cover better than T-rigged plastics.

I was recently told that round reels are easier to use when pitching. I don't palm a reel, so holding it isn't an issue. I would like to hear from others who have used both round and low profile reels for pitching to contribute.

wondering if anyone has tried out any of the rods from Okuma? I love their reels so was thinking of trying out one of their rods. Whats ya'lls experience with them?

I am looking for a new reel. I love my Okuma Cayennes but they no longer make them. I was wondering if anyone here has used the citrix and what your thoughts are on it. I am also looking at their new line of reels, but they are not available yet. anyone with experience with any of these? I would love to hear what ya'll have to say.

Anyone had a chance to try the new Ardent low profile edge reels? I am interested but tackle warehouse isn't doing a demo on them yet. Want to hear feedback on this new reel and the new drag tracking technology.

Many lakes in Texas have been stocked with smallmouth. Most of them never reproduced or survived though. Occasionally you will catch one on a lake that isn't supposed to have any. Many lakes in the Central Texas region and the North Texas region have smallmouth bass. In central Texas we have Guadalupe bass and smallmouths. Sometimes they breed together and make an interesting fish.

So I finally got to take out the new rod and reel out. WOW this rod is amazingly sensitive. I thought my duckett rods were sensitive but they have nothing on this rod. It is my new all time texas rig rod!!! Thanks Catt for the great advice.

So I mainly use duckett rods since I get a discount through the club I am in. But after reading post after post of Catt saying that the shimano Crucial 6'10 MH XF was scary sensitive I went out and bought one to use as my main wormin rod. It was on sale since they came out with a new model.

What he isn't telling you is that his buddy Terry is Terry Oldham of Oldham jigs. Visited Terry Oldham the other day at his home in wimberley and he said ya'll were destroying them by 9am.

It probably due to the heat. Many stores leave boxes out in non air conditioned storage until ready to stock the shelves.

I have broken down and ordered my first Shimano reel. I ordered a Citica 200e today. I have used every brand but Shimano. I hate going with the crowd and always am out to find something better, but this deal was to good to pass up. I currently have been using Okuma Cayennes, but they are now discontinued. They are still working fine, but I am tired of reading how good Shimano is.
