  1. The day started out terrible. I missed 3 fish within the first 5 casts and then went 2 hours without getting a bite. I'm glad I stuck with it though because I caught these 2 beauties. Big Fish #1 http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a306/Cha0sS0ldier/fish1_240r.jpg http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a306/Cha0sS0ldier/fish1_238.jpg http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a306/Cha0sS0ldier/fish1_239l.jpg Big Fish #2 http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a306/Cha0sS0ldier/fish2_235.jpg http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a306/Cha0sS0ldier/fish2_236.jpg http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a306/Cha0sS0ldier/fish2_237.jpg It's hard to take good pictures when you are by yourself.
  2. Is that strange looking fish a Warmouth? It has the body type but it's markings/colors are different than the ones I catch around here. I catch them a lot when fishing for bass. Oh and that bass is a beauty.
  3. I wish I could get a boat into this place. It's surrounded by woods on the back side, fence on the road side, a Toyota factory on the right, and a warehouse on the left. No way at all to get a boat in. I've thought about a float tube though. I'm gonna keep fishing these lakes hard though. These lakes (there is a second smaller lake behind the big one) have been here AT LEAST 20 years because my grandfather pulled 2 8lbers out and had them mounted before I was even born. There has to be a 10+ bass in there.
  4. The grass produced more numbers for me but I lost a huge fish in the pads and my buddy caught a nice 5-6 lb fish out of the pads. All of the fish were caught right on the edge of the grass/pads though.
  5. I saw them at the wal-mart here. I decided to buy a pack of Yamamoto senkos instead to see what all the hype was about. Before that all I had used were the tiki sticks. I'm gonna pick a few packs of these next time i'm there.
  6. Had some good fishing here in Jax today fishing the shallow grass lines. 5" watermelon senko and watermelon seed baby bush hogs. Had no luck in deeper water. Was still raining a bit today.
  7. After the near skunking I had friday I really wanted to catch some fish. I decided to go back to a lake I haven't fished in years but I always had really good luck. It's a pretty large lake that is on some empty property owned by the electric company here. I'll post pics of the lake wish the fish. All of the fish were caught on Baby Brush Hogs or senkos. Oh and the big fish isn't mine. My buddy caught it about 5 minutes after I lost a huge fish in the lilly pads. Was the only fish he caught. 8. Nope. Caught this one out of a retention pond near Kernan blvd. I'll be doing some more fishing sunday. I still want to try out that spot you told me about. It's probably gonna be flooded like everything else though.
  9. #1 - Work #2 - Fishing #3 - Video Games
  10. Weather has been terrible lately. It's been raining heavy for almost a week solid because of a large low pressure system. It was still raining a little bit today but I decided to fish anyway. My buddy who was using live shiners only managed 2 fish in 4 hours and I caught one fish off of a 5" Watermelon senko. My buddy pulled a 9lber out of here a few weeks ago....not so much today.
  11. Let me guess eagle claw and gamakatsu. ours has those 2 and also mustad. Nope. Just Eagle Claw and Mustad.
  12. The selection at my wal-mart has gotten terrible. They have a few Yamamoto, Zoom, and Culprit baits and that's about it. The hook selection was also terrible. Only 2 different brands of worm hooks.
  13. I'm gonna go do some fishing today. It has been raining for almost a week here in Jax and it's still raining a little bit.
  14. I'm not having much luck finding good areas to fish. I don't have a boat so it makes things a bit difficult. Anybody have any suggestions?
  15. The Red Shad Culprits are my go to bait for sure. I have so much confidence in that bait. It's the first thing my grandfather gave me when he first taught me how to bass fish.
  16. I've never met my father before. My grandfather is the one that taught me how to fish. Your post has made me tear up thinking back about all of the great memories I had with him on the water. I lost him about 10 years ago to cancer and it was very very hard on me. I'm very sorry for your loss.
  17. Loudmouth bass was great,i cant belive it got cancelled.Schooled by DB was good to. The only good show left is BassCenter >
  18. Jumping carp? Wow. I hate those fish anyways...I can't imagine if they were jumping. http://www.greatlakesdirectory.org/oh/070405_great_lakes.htm Pretty crazy stuff.
  19. Thats pretty crazy. Reminds me of those jumping carp that are taking over some of the rivers in the US.
  20. Down here in FL the ditched are LOADED with crawdads,i just take a net and drag it across the bottom, instant bait ;D And boy do the bass love those things lol
  21. I caught a 9lber out of the 2 acre pond that used to be in my backyard.(Sadly, the lake dried up) I ate him because when i caught him i knew it was inevitable that the lake was gonna dry up.(Had a bad drought in 97-'99)
  22. Bluegill are stupid lol,ive caught them using a gold hook with no bait, tinfoil, and even on tabs off of beer cans.
  23. I use them sometimes, especially if im feeling lazy and dont wanna retie a bunch of lures,or if I want to add a LITTLE more weight to something without putting a Weight on it.
  24. Yes,that is just their version of the senko.
  25. Depends on the situation,During the spawn i like to use Lizards, but in my opinion the most productive bait overall for using on a C Rig are Regular ol plastic worms, followed closly by Creature and Craw baits.
