  1. Gander Mountain. I put it in the topic description.
  2. They are currently running a sale on all of their reels, plus there is a code (gmg20) to get $20 off of any order over $100. Revo S for $85 Citica E for $80 (have to add something tiny to the cart with it to get it over the $100 mark) Pfluger Patriarch for $139 Revo SX for $129 Daiwa Zillion for $189 Just a heads up for anyone that needs a new reel. You can get a Revo S + a Veritas for $185 and you get a $25 mail in rebate!
  3. I went ahead and ordered a Revo S for $85 from Gander Mountain. Couldn't resist for that price. Plus I get a $25 rebate since I just bought a Veritas. Just stack the coupon code gmg20 ($20 off a $100 order) with the current reel sale they have and it takes the Revo S down to $85. Or you can get an $80 Citica 200e (have to add something tiny to your cart to get it over the $100 mark).
  4. I've had fish follow my bait back to the boat and jump out of the water to eat it as I pull it up. I've also had a lot of fish destroy my bait literally the moment it hit the water.
  5. I think I'm going to order one!
  6. Was fishing a small natural lake near my buddy's house. The lake is about 6 acres. It is different than any lake I have ever fished in FL. It starts out at about 2-3' then about 2 feet out from the shore it drops off really quickly to 20+ feet then after about 5 feet it starts to get shallower (7-10') again until you get to the island in the middle. Spent most of the day fishing the ledges of the deep trench. The fish were killing T-Rigged Baby Rage Craws and Junebug Trick worms. I also found out that even frogs can't resist the Rage Tails!
  7. Anyone have any experience with this reel? They can be had for $70 right now which is a great deal. I'm just wondering how they perform.
  8. The Cane Thumper doesn't catch fish...ever
  9. Apparently they like Swim Jigs also. A huge one made off with my brand new one today. Broke off my 40# PP and swam away as I was unhooking him. They are a pain when wade fishing. I was using a U-Vibe Craw as the trailer. They destroy the vibe worms and craws.
  10. Some great deals to be had. Just thought I'd give everyone a heads up.
  11. I have a Veritas and I love it. No breaking problems here and I have pulled in big bass, mudfish, and gar with it. The only thing is that the rods are a bit stiff. The Mh is more like a H.
  12. Catt is 100% correct yet again.
  13. I catch plenty of fish in the dead of summer in water with no crawfish in them with craw baits. The Rage Craw and Zoom U-Vibe craws are my favorites. Both are very versatile.
  14. So I recently made the switch over to braid. I like it but I'm having some problems. I fish some waters that are clear and I want to use a leader but the leader breaks almost every time I set the hook. I'm using 40# Power Pro with Yo-Zuri Hybrid 12# for the leader on my casting setup and 20# Power Pro with either an 8 or 12lb leader on my spinning stuff (both break off). I'm using a double uni knot to connect the leader to the mainline. The breakoff is happening close to the knot where I tie the hook onto the leader. I'm using a palomar knot to tie the hook to the leader. I'm making sure I lube all knots up before tightening them down. I never had any breakoff problems when I was using just mono. Why is this happening?
  15. I have that same boat. It's very stable. Two can easily stand and fish out of it. It's too bad it turned out to be a POS. They are great little boats.
  16. Zoom U-Vibe speed worms make great jig trailers! My little brother just caught his first jig fish using a blue/black jig with a random curly tail worm as a trailer.
  17. Zoom Super Fluke (Baby Bass, Watermelon) Zoom Trick Worm (White, Junebug, Redbug) Rage Craw or Baby Rage Craw (Okee Craw, Bama Craw) ALWAYS catch fish with those baits.
  18. Those are usually private.
  19. If it has any kind of motor on it you need to register it for use on public water. Make sure he has a title.
  20. Those little pontoon boats are incredibly stable. You are to REALLY try to tip one over. That thing will be 10x more stable than a 10 or 12 foot jon boat. You can even stand and fish from them. I have a 10 footer made out of the same material. The owner before me painted it camo for duck hunting and the paint scratches off super easy, he may have just done a poor job though.
  21. I used the 8lb Stren Flourocast and had no problems with it. Just moisten your knots and use some KVD Line and Lure Conditioner.
  22. They have invaded one of my favorite bass spots. Every time I think I have a good bass on it turns out to be a mudfish. They hit almost anything I throw out, but they really seem to like my Zoom U-Vibe worms.
  23. I've been fishing the rage craw as a topwater and the fish have been killing it. Such a versatile bait.
  24. Yeah, I figured that's what it was. Still a nice deal though.
  25. Academy has them for that price also. Sale starts today.
