Snakes
I hate geese. I always walk up on their nests when I am bank fishing. They scare the crap out of me. Still not as bad as being chased by a water moccasin though.

Trolling Motor Problems
I got it working. It was missing the fuse. I knew it was something simple. Thanks guys. Now I know what an inline fuse is lol. Always learning things in this place.

Versus Bass Spawning Map
The fish have been in post spawn in my area for almost 2 weeks now so it's a bit off for my area.

Trolling Motor Problems
Ok so I just bought my first boat. I bought my deep cycle battery and charged it until it was fully charged. When I hook it up all of my other electronics work (lights, fish finder, aerator) but the trolling motor will not work. This is the plug that the TM plugs into When I touch the wires of the TM directly onto the battery it works so I know that the TM itself works. Here is the wiring that connects to the battery, am I missing something here or something? There are 3 fuses in a panel on the side of the battery compartment and I checked those, they are all good. I have a feeling it's something really simple and I am going to feel like an idiot lol.

Any Pelican Bass Raider Owners Out There?
I'll have to get me some of that. I shouldn't have much problem getting it off, it's a poor paint job and already starting to chip away pretty easily.

Any Pelican Bass Raider Owners Out There?
I got it for $450. I really like it, perfect for what I need it for.

Show your ride...
Just bought my first boat. Nothing special at all but I love it and it's perfect for the areas I fish.

Any Pelican Bass Raider Owners Out There?
Yeah I think I've ruled out the 8 footer. Everyone always says it's cramped for 2 people. I'm going to look at this today. It's not a bass raider but it's a similar plastic boat. http://jacksonville.craigslist.org/boa/2268826471.html

Any Pelican Bass Raider Owners Out There?
I've tried fishing from a kayak, not a big fan. I guess I'll keep looking on craigslist for something with a trailer.

Any Pelican Bass Raider Owners Out There?
Academy has the 8 footer on sale for $329 and i'm really thinking about pulling the trigger. I mostly fish small ponds and I mostly fish by myself. How stable are these things, I do not want to end up in the water. How easy is it to load and unload one of these by yourself? Would I be able to get it on top of my car by myself?

Fishing a Grassy Pond
I fish a pond that has the same conditions. A weightless Rage Tail Anaconda and weightless flukes work wonders. Weightless texas rigged trick worms work well also.

dumbest thing you've done while fishing
I had hooked a large bass (5+lbs) on a Horny Toad. As the fish got close to the bank for whatever freaking reason my brain decided "hey, lets try to just flip the fish out of the water onto the bank like an idiot instead of leaning over to lip it". Yeah I lost the fish. I was dumbfounded as to why I would even try that, I was beyond ticked off. I chalk it up to rust and excitement. Would have been my first fish of the year this year. I caught some other that day so it wasn't so bad though.

worms

What reels should I put on?
I haven't used the wide variety of reels that some around here have but I think the BPS Pro Qualifier is a nice choice. It's on sale for $80 right now. I paid $99 for mine a year ago and I still feel like I got a steal. I love it.

soft jerkbaits
The Super Flukes are the only ones I've really used. They worked today when almost nothing else would.

If you had to choose one lure to fish??
If it was just to feed my family I'd go with a small in-line spinner. It will catch bass, bluegill, crappie, and just about anything else in the water, fresh or salt.

Keeping your tackle hidden from wifee?
My wife doesn't care what I spend my money on or how much crap I have. If she did she would probably kill me considering the amount of money I spend on fishing tackle, electronics, and gaming gear.

Just moved back to Jax, FL
How close are you to the westside? I have some nice spots I'd be happy to share.

Does anybody else find themselves throwing soft plastics more often than hardbaits?
I fish plastics about 95% of the time. I will tie on a spinnerbait every now and then but that's about it.

Lyme Disease YEAH!
Lyme disease is just plain horrible. I'm very paranoid about getting it because i almost always find ticks on me after I go in the woods down here. I always seem to find them before they bite me but I could have been bit and never knew. I actually freaked out once and thought I had it because I had a big red ring on my leg (was just ringworm lol). I remember back in 05 Wyatt Sexton (a QB at FSU) was found doing pushups in the middle of a street, banging on the hoods of peoples cars, and was yelling at people declaring he was god. Everyone thought he was on drugs or just crazy but it turned out that it was because he had lyme disease that had went untreated.

Look what I found
There are a ton of Gar in a lake that I fish a lot. I hate the things. Any time I try to use any kind of spinner or crankbait they literally just destroy it. I caught one my last time out on a superfluke and it put up a good fight. I hooked anther one that was HUGE...I saw this thing splash on the surface and almost had a heart attack. It was bending my MH rod like a twig and peeling drag like crazy. The hooked popped out of his mouth before I could get it in though (almost straightened my EWG worm hook).

$100 towards a new reel
+1 for the PQ. It is a great reel.

Whats the best bank fishing in Jacksonville, FL??
Gators and GIANT Gar. I wouldn't be brave enough to tube it.

summer in FL
Yeah I've been catching bass in no more than 3 feet of water. The water i'm fishing has really heavy vegetation in it though.
