A few reasons for me I fish mainly from the bank and it's a lot easier to break off 30# braid with a 14# FC leader than it would be straight braid if I get snagged, It's a confidence thing in clear water, fishing from the bank I usually only have 2 combos with me so I retie a lot which can really eat away at my mainline if I'm not using a leader, braid isn't very abrasion resistant and the leader solves that problem.

I've heard good things about the bass fishing in Julington Creek. Put in at Clarks Fish Camp and fish back towards the back of the creek.

Push your budget a bit and get a brand new Lews Speed Spool for $75 on ebay then pickup a Lighting Rod shock to put it on. I think it's worth the extra $25 to get a reel that will last a lot longer.

Zoom Speed Craws and Rage Craws

I have one of the ML x-fast spinning and I love it. Light, sensitive, and has a great tip and backbone. I got lucky and got one for $50.

Fished in the rain today and had my best day of the year so far. It's my favorite time to fish.

I haven't had any luck out there in a long time. It used to be my best spot but it's just been dead.

Went to a spot the other day and there was an entire destroyed frame from what looked like a mobile home or something similar dumped next to the pond. So disgusting.

Looking at one of these on craigslist and it doesn't have a trailer with it. Would putting the 10e ontop of a jeep cherokee be possible with two people? I haven't seen one of these up close before so I'm not sure just how wide and heavy they are.

Yep, those thin wire hooks also penetrate better when you're using light line and can't lay into a hookset like you can with a beefier setup.

Depends on the bait. With smaller thinner plastics (7" or under worms, small craws, small creature baits, lizards, etc..) I like a 3/0 offset. With the bigger thicker baits I'll bump it up to a 4/0 or an occasional 5/0 ewg. I like to use an offset whenever I can though. Definitely seems like I get a better hookup percentage with those.

One of my favorite presentations. With the rage craws I can fish it slow on the bottom or fish it fast right underneath or on the surface. Fish hammer it.

I've never had luck catching fish I can see cruising around. Only time I can catch fish that I can see is when they are on the bed.

I have a lot of luck with Cane Thumpers if that counts. I've been wanting to buy a Mattlues U2 Gill but I just can't drop $20 on one lure.

Ah ok, haven't really done much fishing around that area. I think I'm the westside guy on here lol.

What area of town do you fish on?

It's still been slow for me. April last year is when it really took off for me so hopefully it picks up soon.

I drop the rod and set straight up like im trying to break something as soon as I feel a tap. If I even think it's a bite I swing for it. Hooksets are free (heard that one on here many years ago).
