Snakehead
This is a bit over done they cannot really walk on land. They really don't attack humans for the species we have. But its an interesting watch. All you ever wanted to know about snakeheads

Snakehead
They did, then people started pulling them out by the dozen and it got too expensive. They ended the program.

Snakehead
I agree Bassin, now all we can do is try to keep them from getting everywhere by catching as many as we can . I never doubted you on if it was dead, I was just trying to figure out the actual legality of it. What did you catch him on?

Snakehead
Actually I'm reasonably certain its ONLY illegal to not kill it if you keep it in your boat but your not legally required to kill it when caught from what I understand. However that being said, kill the scoundrels they are multiplying faster then termites. Oh right from the Virginia Department of Game and Inland fisheries "What should someone do if they think they've found a snakehead fish?.... We have established an in-state toll-free hotline (1-800-770-4951) that anglers can use to report snakehead fish. This number is staffed 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Out-of-state callers should telephone (804) 367-1258. If you think you've caught a snakehead fish, please do not release it. Kill the fish by: 1. removing the head, 2. separating the gill arches from the body, or 3. removing the internal organs and put it on ice as quickly as possible. Call the Department of Game and Inland Fisheries' hotline."

NOVA Tackle shops, are there any?
Thanks! For some reason I dint realize Dicks had that good of a lure selection and never even heard of Dawson's. I'm looking for some crank baits and wanted to buy the first few where I could see what I was getting. I will check those out ASAP

NOVA Tackle shops, are there any?
I was wondering if any of you all have found a tackle shop in NOVA for freshwater. Everything I can find is either fly fishing or BPS in Maryland which is a bit further then I like driving from Annandale. I mean there is always Walmart but its not quite the same :-/ Have you all found anything near by or do you all just order online from the sponsors. Thanks in advance -Dave

NOVA no bites
Just for the two cents its worth Ive been playing lake Accotink and the fishing isn't spectacular. You can get some small fish right below the dam with a slow run spinner. I got one small mouth bank fishing over on the left side of the lake with a synco. However, I haven't tried renting a boat yet there and I have had pretty good luck on the Potomac with a canoe. Perhaps that's the missing ingredient :-?

New from NOVA - Nice to meet yall :D - P.s. Thanks RoadWarrior already!
Yeah sorry senkos. Still getting all the wording down took me lurking the forum to even figure out the difference between baitcasters and spinning reel. Thanks for the kind welcome, I have been loving the information on here and I think my friends are enjoying my research as much as I am.

Burke Lake Fishing 7/11
Nice find! I ran off to lake Accotink yesterday and landed just one small large mouth bass. It was pretty unexciting there - I was actually thinking Monday I would go for Burke lake and I guess ill try to make that happen now . Did you rent a boat? I was thinking about renting one sometime if you want to go out again sometime soon let me know.

New from NOVA - Nice to meet yall :D - P.s. Thanks RoadWarrior already!
Hey! I'm from Fairfax and recently started getting into fishing. Ive been fishing The Potomac and lake Accotink recently and have until today had little luck but a great time. I have gotten tons of cats out of the Potomac and a few carp and sunfish but today I was at lake and I wanted to give a big thanks road warrior for his fake worm fishing guide because it got me my first large mouth . Anyways background im using a Shamano Citica reel and a m bass pro shop rod right now, seems to be a pretty good starter set but right now I'm just trying to get the feel of everything. Anyways nice to meet you all and thanks for your great forum I have been trolling for about a week and have learned tons already!

*HELP*Carrot stix
That is what I am looking at but I am a little nervous about the durability of the carrot stix's. I will only have one rod and reel for a bit because this is kinda an expensive setup to start playing with :/ But the rod works that good that its worth it I am guessing.

*HELP*Carrot stix
What would you think of this as a beginner rod? I'm currently looking at getting a Shamano Citica for my reel. Do you think this would make a good starter combo or is this more rod and reel then I will know how to work.
