New from Waynesville, NC

Featured Replies

Hello everyone. My name is Craig and I live in Waynesville, NC. I'm very fortunate in that Lake Junaluska is halfway between where I live and where I work ... 2 1/2 miles away. I stop for an hour in the morning, and several hours each evening depending on weather.

I've been in Waynesville, NC for just over a year and Lake J is a great compound! So far this year I've landed ... from shore ... a 7-lb., 2 6-lb., 5 5-lb. and approximately 30 other smaller fish.

I throw a Happy Hooker chartruese buzzbait 90% of the time, switching to cranks and worms when all else fails. The fish here hit it a ton and the 7-pounder is my biggest bass to date.

Glad to be here! Craig (TeamHappyHooker)

Thanks everyone for the welcome! Bad couple of days for fishing ... cold front came through and hung around with some low pressure.

I tried topwater, spinnerbaits, suspended cranks, deep water ... not even a hit. Oh well ... it still beats working!

Howdy Craig!

Again, thanks to everyone for the welcome. It's been a while since I posted ... haven't caught much lately. I landed two pounders this morning ... first first in a month-and-a-half.

Going back down to Lake J tonight with the wife and daughter.

Later!

Craig
