I believe the St Croix Premier crankbait rod is SC11 graphite blank and not a glass blank. The Mojo crankbait rods are a S glass blank. I'm not sure how the Mojo glass rods preform, but a friend of mine uses a Premier in a heavy power with the moderate action graphite blank and loves it for deep cranks.

I have the Soron STX and love it too. I also have an ALB502 and love this also, still going strong after 6 or 7 years. I don't know much about the SX, but I'm confident it is a quality reel also.

Shane, I'm not real familar with the Shimamo Products, but probably a 9 on hear say. My dropshot setup is a St Croix LTBS69MLXF, Abu Soron STX20 filled with 8# Nanofil. But a fav of mine is my Gloomis MBR843, Revo Premier and 12# Gamma. I love fishing this with a 5/16 oz Jewel jig and a Net Bait Baby Craw.
