  1. The rod that comes closest to covering all your crankbait needs imo is the St Croix Avid 7' MHM rod. I use this rod with a Lews Tournament 5 - 1 reel for 80 - 90% of all my crankbait needs. I also use a Gloomis CBR 843 with a Curado 50e for finesse cranking and for Pointer 78 lures and a St Croix Avid 7' HM for real deep divers but it's overkill. The Avid MHM will do it all if you want to opt for just one rod.

  6. Ideally, top water and deep cranks are two different rods. For top water I use A St Croix 6'8'' MXF rod and for deep cranks a St Croix AVC 7' HM. I do have a St Croix AVC 7" MHM that I use for shallow to medium cranks. The 7' AVC MHM, would handle both your top water and 15' cranks although not the best fit for either technique. You already have a good top water, shallow crankbait rod so I would concentrate on a rod for just deep cranking.There are already many good suggestions for a deep crankbait rod.
