I am looking at upgrading my electronics. Trying to decide btw a lowrance hds 7 and a lowrance hds 8. I am gonna get the insight and structure scan for sure. But I was wondering if there is a difference btw the 2 other than size? Is there more or less functions or what? any help i would appreciate

I have read and seen where people use a low gear ratio reel when crankin like a 5.2:1 or 4.7:1! I have some places I like to fish that i need to crank 14-18ft and I tried a 5.2:1 reel and it seemed harder to reach those depths than when I use a 7.1:1 reel. Can anyone give me some suggestions. Thanks

I am in the process of buying a new crankin rod and I was wondering what suggestions ya'll may have. I have been looking at the KVD tour crankin rods or maybe even the carrot crankin stick. Do ya'll have any suggestions? I am looking in the $75-$150 range thanks!

I was looking at buying some of these, has anyone on here had any experiences with them! I know they are kinda cheap but I was wondering if they were worth the money? Any suggestions?

well I know for a fact it is against the law here in these lakes to put anything that is plastic in them! But I think I could use rebar or x-mas trees for sure!

I just bought a 2002 tr-21 dual console with wood grain in may and it was in excellent condition with a 225 hp merc efi and all the electronics worked good they were both lowrance depth finders with gps 1 was color the other was not and I paid 17k for it! sounds like a steal to me if everything is in good shape! I would get him to get you a print out on the hours on the motor for sure and see just how hard and how long he has been running it!

I was wondering if any of yall ever put any structure for the bass and if so what kind? In the fall the lakes around here get fairly low so it would be easy for me to put out some structure of some sort that may help me during the spring or summer months! I was thinking about something similar to the honey hole structure I found on the internet but making it myself! Any Suggestions?

I went out fishing yesterday afternoon and most of my bites came on a buzz bait but the problem was 85% of my bites there was no hook up b/c the fish were hitting behind it or just hitting the very end of the bait! I have been catching alot of fish on this lake with a buzzbait w/o this problem so I was wondering does the temp. being cooler here lately have a effect on them or what! My other question is what should I do or use to catch these fish? I know a trailer hook is an option but is there another bait I could try? I used a pop-r with no bites!

just went to my walmart here in town in mississippi and sho nuff they had alot of things on sale for a dollar and some of the line was marked down! got a spool of trilene xl smooth casting 17 lb for $5!!

I am just getting started and trying to learn some of the tricks and facts about how to get the most out of my tackle! I know you guys are experienced and could help me so my question is what do you use mono/flouro/braid line for generally on your lures? I can't remember which is best used for cranking, spinnerbaits, which is more buoyant, etc...

I need a new flipping and pitching set-up and I was wondering if ya'll had any suggestions? Gonna try and stay around the $250-300 range for set-up if possible!
