  1. Wow you guys answered all my questions! I'm looking for a new rod and reel cheap (I'm young, got no money) and I got a good shimano citica on a cabelas 7' MH with a fast tip for worms and jigs now a want one for spinnerbaits, crankbaits, buzzbaits, and anything else like it and obviously i wanted a pretty soft tip
  2. I would first suggest fishing without a trailer hook but if you are only getting hit and are missing fish, then go ahead and add one. One day I was missing fish so I slapped on a trailer hook and started catching fish. The next day using the same spinnerbait, they were absolutely hammering my bait and the trailer hook almost got seriously caught in it's throat! I took it off and never missed a fish the rest of the day. It all depends on their mood and activity
  3. Just got the fireline crystal and all I can say is wow. I haven't been able to test it in the water as far as strength but I put it in our pool and was having trouble seeing the line. I had my doubts but I am impressed.
  4. You might want a few grass carp to keep the grass down and catfish would be cool. I don't think walleye would do to well in a pond...And definitely NOT them toothy northern.
  5. x2 x3 x6 x7... IMO Quantums are heavy paper weights... Citca x1,000,000,000,000,000,000! The Citica is the first bc reel I ever got and I love it. It did take a while for me to get used to it but I'm glad I did. It is a smooth reel and works great with braided line. I cast, flip pitch. It's a great reel
  6. almost always stand
  7. You can thread it on or just run the hook through the end of it somewhere which gives it more movement and lets it wiggle more and what-not.
  8. I like the Jewel Baits jigs with none other than the rage tail craw (Craw so I can trim for trailer or leave long for texas rig craw
  9. Wow great fish but an even greater combo there. Curado + Crucial! Man wish I had one of them
  10. I would usually start with a spinnerbait or crankbait and fish them at different speeds, retrieves, etc. then go to a favorite soft plastic or other technique that you use in other favorite waters (Jig, dropshot, t-rig, w.e you find that works.)
  11. I love fishing spinnerbaits and they rarely get snagged on any rocks unless you are being stupid (I've only lost 2 ) But crankbaits would catch all the grass in there but hey, it would at least be out of there
  12. I've seen his show where he says that thing is "Handier than a pocket on a shirt (I thought that's why they put pockets on pants!)" but I've never seen him actually use it.
  13. Ha, I love that comercial.
  14. Has anyone ever used these and do they work or not?
  15. I always put trailers on my spinnerbaits and I usually just use a normal twister tail.
  16. I don't know if blade color on a buzzbait really makes a difference. All mine are chrome or whatever you wanna call it with white skirts and my fish don't seem to care.
  17. Honestly I will say I have never talked to any Pros but I do know about youtube. There are videos on there of people talking about their jigs. If you watch one of the videos I posted the man makes a good poinnt. He says something like this, "Your gonna get snagged with a jig, but why trim the weed guard and make it easier to get snaggged. When going over a log or throught weeds, the weed guard will get depressed. But if it is trimmed to the hook point, it will just make it easeier to get snagged." Think about that for a while. And I'm not trying to make anyone mad ot anything, I just gave my opinion.
  18. Hey I was just wondering what you guys like abd use. I got some Yum Super Chunk Jrs and Rage Tail Craw.
  19. I don't get the point of trimming them off. Why cut it right off at the hook? It's gonna go past the hook anyway. Ask a bunch of pros and I bet 90% don't trim them, and they ebviously catch fish. The same with trimming the skirt to the bottom of the hook. I would only do it if I want a smaller profile or want my trailer to show more. I leave my jigs alone
  20. Hey guys I want to know if you can scent your soft plastics with around the house materials.
  21. Just got some rage tail craws, opened up the back and thought my nose was on fire. Those things hurt my nostril and all the way back to my throat. Felt like I had strept throat
  22. So you can just add scent to your plastics? Cuz I got some cheap plastics and want to scent them but dont know how. Could I just put some garlic in there with them?
