Baitcasting Rod under $160
Dude Daiwa Cielo at TW for 124.88... NOTHING and I mean NOTHING even comes close to those rods at even 250... its the same blank as the Steez... I own a lot of them I bought 5 when TW had them at 150 and I bought a few more today at the 124.88 price... Trust me you wont touch a rod that nice at that price with anything else.

Mini review of the NRX
I fished the 803C at the bass filled pond behind my house.. in an hour I caught 2 in the 3# range 1 4# and about 10 in the 1 pound range. I mounted a PX68 on it spooled with 15# Seaguar Tatsu Rage tail lobster and 1/8oz screw in Tru-Tungsten weight... The rod is sensitive VERY VERY sensitive they wasnt lying about that... its one of the most sensitive rod ive ever fished right along side my Evergreen Black Ravens, Megabass F5-66X Bearing Down and a few others it does have more feel then what I remember the GLX's have and as you all know the GLX was SENSITIVE!!!! but not as Sensitive as my Daiko Burroughs BRSC68M (I have 4 of them they are that good) bite detection was instant and could be felt with ease.. bottom feel was really good I could tell what I was touching and feel the texture perfectly.. no one will say this rod isnt crazy sensitive it is so much so that you can map out the bottom and feel the texture of what you are touching like you would with your hand... the rods power and action are dead on the rod feels insanely crisp in hand and just feels natural.. I dont like those type of reel seats and thats my only disappointment but a small one and it is pretty comfortable I wish it would have came with the new Split ACS fuji or normal ACS or even ECS.. I will get really detailed about the rod after I fish it on the boat tomorrow I will be giving them a full 10-12 hour work out..So far im impressed and couldnt be more happy with the rods other then the reel seat and like I said thats a small issue that I dont really care about... If all them fish like the 803C I do believe I have have 3 Loomis rods on the boat again.. I remember the day when I had a lot of them lol... now I only own two GLX's and havent fished them in a long time.. this is the first Loomis ive fished in a LONG time lol... and im very impressed I cant want to get them in the lake and see how they handle cover and 5 pounders around cover so I can really lean on the rods (With in reason of course) Im only bring the 3 NRX's I wont have another rod on the boat so I can truly give them a work out and not want to fish my JDM stuff.. I know if I have my Daiwa, Megabass or Evergreen rods on the boat I will be fishing them and I cant do it if they are at home lol!! I will fish them with FC, Mono and Braid... Mono will tell the test of truly how Sensitive they really are.. They wont beat the Daiko because even with lower grade FC its more Sensitive then the NRX. Just like TT said the Steez 6.3MH/F is one of the most Sensitive rods theyve ever fish I do believe my Top gun's (The JDM version of the 6.3 I have 3 of them) is the most Sensitive rod there is and the Daiko is the same maybe a tocuh better.. they are both so Sensitive that I really cant tell what ones more so.. but they are both more so then this one and like I said even with a less grade FC. I will get the pics and a real review up for you all tomorrow...

Well my NRX's are here!!
Cumulus= very light and unbalanced... Loomis rods have always been very well balanced rods they strive for there rods to be. they added a little weight to get the rod to balance very well... Daiwa did the same thing with the Steez if Daiwa wanted to they could have made the Steez stupid light but tip heavy in hand.. thats not what makes a rod fish well super light poorly balanced rods DONT feel light in hand... light well balanced feel amazing in hand.. Put the same reel on a Cumulus and on the NRX or the same size and power and watch how much lighter the NRX feels even tho the other is 1/2oz lighter... you dont here much about the Cumulus because it isnt nothing special its just light I have fished one and I didnt like it at all and IMHO its a 250 dollar price bracket rod not more then that because thats what it fishes like (Iam not saying this because I only fish Daiwa its the truth and I would tell the same if Daiwa made a rod like it) its Sensitivity is in the Zillion/Cumara area... IMHO my Zillion's are more sensitive.. it balanced poorly with a Steez on it (was very tip heavy) and not a rod I would feel safe really leaning in to (Thank god for the over the counter life time deal)

topwater rod suggestions needed
A rod that would handle hollowbody frogs, soft plastic frogs will be to stiff to keep fish pinned with treble hooks on popper and such.. if they are big poppers with big hooks it would be a little better but small hooks would get tore out a lot on a rod that would excel at what you want.. the rod would handle buzz baits fairly. If you go with mono it would handle treble hooks better but would hurt in the other areas... I would go with a 6.10 to 7 foot rod in MH/XF if you still wanna try and use it for all your top water treble baits included... if you are mainly gonna use it as a frog rod in heavy cover go with a 7 to 7.6 (I really like my frog rods 7'4) H/F.. If you are disciplined at waiting to feel the fish go XF you will have more power... a slightly slower action will help the fish get it just ever so slightly deeper before hook set... I doubt you will find a rod that you will be happy with fishing all the lures you said.. you will suffer in one area with the rod it will excel at one and be limited at the other..

mono?
I dont think price really affects the brand you go with when your talking mono. It's all inexpensive. But Sunline is a good choice. LOL well I noted price for a reason....When someone that knows JDM lines rods reels blah blah blah....price is ALWAYS high... So when I replyed with Sunline and listed the cost I did it so the person didnt not even look at it thinking its like MOST Sunline products and thats high cost.... IE 110 yards of shooter = 40+ dollars... and if you think Mono cant cost a lot? well my friend your limited on JDM tackle. Toray Bawo Polyamide = 20 dollars plus for 150M and it can get MUCH higher then even that... so that comment that was made was not needed because when people think mono they think Stren, Berkley, sufix ect ect.. 5-7 dollars= 330 yards... JDM lines some 150M = 30 dollars.

mono?
Sunline Super Natural mono!!!!! IMHO with out a doubt the best mono on the market!!!!! and 330 yards cost only 10 dollars!! its just a awesome line.

Post some fishing love (Photo Thread)
I never liked the Anodized pink color on the Ito but I own all the Limited Ito reels and LOVE them all no Daiwa collector/Enthusiast's collection is complete without all the Daiwa/Ito limited stuff... HOWEVER I have 6 M-Ito's, 5 lites and those reels are fishing machines... (Two of the Ito's are new in box and 1 lite is new in box in the reel display case) Those "Colorful" round reels are casting beasts... they will both go VERY low in casting weight and preform as good as pretty much any low-pro and out preform A LOT of them... The M-lite's are one of my fav reels and IMHO the best casting round reel one can touch... with the ZPI Shallow spool (The one in the pic has the deep spool) my other 3 all have the shallow spool (the new in box one has stock spool). can cast 1/8oz with ease on the right rod.. and go even lower if you went down in line size.. I dont know where the would bottom out but I can tell you its low All the ones that I use have ABEC 7 orange seals (New in box are all stock to uphold resale value).

Fuji ACS Reel Seat
I will have a Custom built with that seat as soon as I can get my hands on one! thats a fine looking reel seat and will be very popular!!! I fish one behind the trigger and 3 in front. I love the ACS seat and I have big hands so its not only comfortable for small handed people... I love ECS seats to but the ACS looks better and both fish comfortable for me and tons of other people.

Well my NRX's are here!!
yup pretty nice.. I dont like the fact it only comes with a flat bottom mag Z spool I wanted it in a 103.. that was a problem mine are both 103's now lol.. I will take pics for you with a 7.1 Steez and the IS73. I have them with me now and they are light..and typical Gloomis XF lol I like them so far.. Im impressed I had her bring a Steez 103 with Daiwa braid on it and I was out side casting it and im really happy that with the new guide setup those stupid recoils dont make noise now with braid!!!!!!! the Ti/Sics along with Recoils have killed the braid noise that I hated so bad with the GLX's or any rod with recoils on them! it feels good with the Steez on them balance is about 1/2in in front of the end of the reel... with the Steez it is not tip heavy in the slightest thats what I was worried about with a uber light reel and split grip was it being a little tip heavy and it isnt!! with a reel 7oz+ balance point will be center of reel seat. I already know my setups, 803C will wear a Pixilla or PX68, 854C will marry a TD-Z R+ and the 893C will mate with a IS73. Man that 803C is silly light... its feels about the same as my JDM Steez Top Gun (6'3 MHF)... they are 97 grams.. and its 6.8!!! thats insane.. gram scale says Steez 103+803C anyone wanna guess???? (Steez has a RCS 90MM carbon handle and ITO Cork knobs) 245.1 grams!!! About 8.6oz's Now thats insane... These rods are gonna stay right about the same as Steez rods and as you know thats VERY light.

Looking for a baitcasting setup
this is would make you a really sweet setup! A Daiwa Zillion 7.1 and a Zillion rod 6.9MH XF.. that rod is very very sensitive (The Zillion rods are IMHO are very close to as Sensitive as my Steez and I should know lol I own A LOT of Steez and a few Zillion rods and there light to) that rod is mega powerful and will handle frogs with ease and has plenty of sensitivity for any soft plastic. that setup with 40# braid will give you all you need for any single hook rig and frogs.. balances well in hand and is pretty light... Zillion rods are light the reels are a little heavier but I weighed that setup right now for you and it comes out at 362 grams. thats not bad when you look at how powerful that rod and reel is. plus it will last you forever. I think it would be something you would really enjoy and you could get the setup new if you look for sales or on ebay for a deal on the reel 420ish...

Well my NRX's are here!!
you talking about the Megabass IS73? I have one I will do that for you.
-
Action for soft plastics
Sure there are a whole lot of just pressure bites and then line moving off.. my dad and I crappie fish sometimes and most of those strikes are just a thump and line get heavy.. but thats live bait and jigging for them so I cant really say how they would pick up a bass lure.. Im sure I have had them grab a worm or craw before but I cant say for sure.. I do know they will slam a LC pointer 128 lol I have caught lots of them on that lure bass fishing.
-
Well my NRX's are here!!
Lol I will keep those two forever lol They was my first high end rods that really started my loving of tackle and then I went to pretty much all JDM enthusiast tackle and those two GLX's started all that.. when I touched those rods I was like OMG nothing else could even come close lol... so those are keep sakes and unless I had no choice but to sell them I wouldnt... lots and lots of great memories with those rods in hand.. including a 13.6# on a 12in Black shad culprit worm T-Rigged out of stick marsh/Farm 13!! I will get a review and pics up ASAP for ya RW have a awesome day bro.

Med-Fast Tip or Fast Tip for Pitching rod?
I really like Fast tips on my F/P sticks.. but what you have to remember is that one persons fast is the next persons XF and the Next persons MF... if its a well known rod maker they know what they want there sticks to do... and the taper will fit what they want that rod to do... some rod companies will slow the tip down just a little because they have a stiffer mid section in the rod... so if they made it a XF tip with the stiffer mid in the rod it would make a axe handle... but with that stiffer mid and a slightly slower tip it will = out to about the same as any other flipping stick out there. some people will agree with how I said this and some others wont.. but thats just how it is..

Well my NRX's are here!!
Thank you very much sir! I know what I wont be doing and thats telling the wife I do anything but LOVE them even if I hate them lmao.. Im sure its gonna be a hella fine rod and I know its gonna be great. I just hope there good enough for me to want a Loomis on the boat again.
-
Well my NRX's are here!!
I bought 3 the 803C, 854C and the 893C The wife called and said they got here. I cant wait to play with them and fish them some and then sell (Maybe) lol... Ill get some pics up with some TD-Ito's, Steez, TD-Z Type R and R+, PX68's and a few others on them so we can see how well the sit on the reel seats. I really hope for Loomis's sake these rods really are amazing because with the changes they have made I believe if this rod is anything less them stellar Loomis will hurt in the sales area.. Shes bringing them over to the office so I can play with them there lol I dont want to wait till whenever Im done tonight to get home and mess with them! Ill let you guys know what I think soon, Im going to take off tomorrow to fish them hard lol.

Action for soft plastics
This is 100% on point! very well wrote bro! And what Raul had to say about Gills Tap Tap Tap and Bass even small ones Tap. <<<This has much more to do with missed strikes then the rod does... XF is the only thing I will T rig with but you could do it on a crak bait rod and still hook fish... but if the hook isnt in the mouth you arent sticking them.

$150 for Finesse Rig...what to do???
you can find them right around 50 dollars and this is really preforms well..... I dont have one but I have a few buddies that fish them and love them! they all talk about how well they work and last... I really believe this is the reel you should go with! its even got a metal gear box and that really makes a big difference in Spinning reels.
