  1. .....what member this mess belongs to?!? Dwight, you can't play! Word is, there are 39 rods missing from this pic!
  2. When I had my 16' sea nymph with 20hp, I had the trim set at one notch up from level. When we would move from spot to spot, I had the passenger sit in the back with me til it got planed out, then move to the front to drop the bow a bit.
  3. Proper way to extend it is with another piece of a rod. Either by inserting the new piece in the butt of the rod or by inserting the rod into the extension. Since its a SB rod, it probably has a fairly large diameter blank so an extension inserted in the rod will probably work. Find a scrap rod with a OD that will fit in the end of the rod once you remove the butt grip. Make sure it will insert at least 4".
  4. Typically, every 10° increase over 70° cuts the pot life in half.
  5. Want to do more of that too. Only been out 4 times this year, all on Erie. Brought my boat home from camp last weekend, so I'd like to do some local fishing.
  6. Indirectly, Batson. Hope to send a few reels off to DVT soon.
  7. No. I'd like to, but my boat doesn't like the shallow stuff.
  8. He is getting a grip like the pink border collie rodgeeks but with the light and dark flopped.
  9. Lathe area. Bandsaw area. Drill press and wrapping/drying bench. Before the power wrapper.
  10. I made it a little bigger than the pattern. It just seemed too small. It feels good in hand.
  11. I've had bluewaters on my truck and trailer since 2008. 60" brake light below my tailgate, 2 12" white strips as back-up lights on the trailer and 2 12" green strips to light up the cut-outs on my trailer steps.
  12. I have all 4 that Mudhole sells and another small one I prefer over the smallest Mudhole has. I get it at a tackle shop that sells blackbird floats. It's their float tubing, used to attach steelhead floats to your line.
  13. I have a silver MHXS in the rack that will be my new tube rod. It's an interesting beast for sure.
  14. Rough turned the grip inlay and fighting butt tonight. I think we have a winner!
  15. Unless there are nicks and dings in the spool already impeding line flow, I don't think anything will be achieved.
  16. Seems to be a few SWPA folks here.
  17. Welcome. SWPA here also.
  18. I built one with the casting guides. I can't see how they will make a difference. I have one more build scheduled with them. After that, I doubt I'll ever use them again.
  19. Do they not understand they need to take the 600 and make it deeper to make a better big water boat, not add a bassboat top cap?
  20. Blank color is very important to me and most of my customers. If the blank is painted, I leave it painted. If it's raw, I leave it raw. It would take a pretty sensitive scale to measure the difference between a painted and unpainted blank. There are orher things you can do to a rod to save more weight than what you loose by stripping the paint.
  21. I tied 4 perfect Uni-Uni knots today in less time than it took to watch the FG how-to vid. I believe in 'if it ain't broke, don't fix it!'
  22. Only 5 in there today! For both me and the wife!
  23. Bass fishermen doing something overkill? Say it ain't so! Lol 40 rod and reel combos under the deck of a 21' 250hp boat with more GPS's, computers and bigger screens than it takes to launch the space shuttle?
  24. Not deep enough for the great lakes most of the time. I'll take my 17' Lund any day over a bass boat, regardless of length. Even a 600 series can get sketchy sometimes. I'm seriously considering a Tyee 2075 for my next rig.
