Side Imaging for a Bass Tracker
Has anyone installed a side imaging depth finder on a basstracker? I was looking at the 798c SI. What's everyone's opinion on this unit or one similar to it. I really want to wait till I get a nicer boat someday but that could be a while. What do you all think, get the side imaging now or wait till I can afford a fiberglass boat in a couple of years and go with one of the bigger units?

G Loomis Cranking Rods
I've got the 843 and 847. The 843 IMHO is great for 1/4 and 1/2 oz traps and small crank baits. If I were to only have one rod I would go with the 845 though.

Shimano Rods
I use Loomis rods for everything except plastics. For plastics I use the Cumara series. They are awesome rods!

Shimano 50E
Nothing at all I love it and actually have 2 casting and 1 spinning sol. A buddy of mine really wants one and doesn't have the money to buy one brand new. I told him I would sale him mine plus it gives me an excuse to buy some new gear. I would really like to replace it with the Daiwa PX68 but I don't know if I can justify that price tag.

Depth finder
Thanks I will definitely look into the puck style transducer.

Shimano 50E
Thanks for the info that helps!

Depth finder
I just recently broke my transducer on an old hummingbird depth finder that was on my trolling motor. I'm probably going to replace it with a new depth finder since mine is outdated. With money being an issue do most fisherman have a nicer depth finder up front or at the driver seat? Now I know a lot of guys have expensive side imaging units at the driver seat but I'm just talking about simple 200-250 dollar depth finders.

Shimano 50E
I'm looking at replacing my Daiwa Sol with a Curado 50E or a Core 50. I don't know if anyone has had a chance to fish the Curado yet but if so I'd love to hear from you. I haven't seen any reviews on it yet since it was just released but am wondering if this reel will satisfy those guys who are die hard Core50 fisherman. I know some will stick to the Core because of it's weight but feel like those who don't care about the 1.5oz weight difference might jump on board. What's everyone's thoughts and opinions on these?

ATTENTION west tennessee bass fishermen!!!!
I would be interested. I don't live to far from all of these lakes.

Revo better than the Curado?
I've got the revo permier and prefer my Curado over it any day.

G Loomis Spinnerbait VS Cumara Reaction Rod (Or other good spinnerbait rods)
I've got a G Loomis spinnerbait rod as well. I had it paired with a revo premier but recently put a daiwa fuego on it. I honestly just don't throw spinnerbaits that much so I couldn't give you a good review on it. I've mainly used it for buzzbaits but it's been a great rod. You can never go wrong with a Loomis rod IMHO but from experience I don't think a high dollar rod for spinnerbaits is necessary unless that's your main tactic that you use for fishing and then I'd say go for it!

Absolutly Blows My Mind- Fish crushing The New Wing Ding
Based on pictures they definitely look somewhat "similar" to a couple of others but if you watch the videos for each they are definitely different. Looks like an awesome bait. Can't wait to try it out!

2 horrible boating accidents on Lake Murray
I'm willing to bet neither boats were using lights.

I don't know I think snow might be better. We've had 10 inches or rain since 3AM. They are evacuating some neighborhoods and homes with a boat. That might be normal in some states but is definitely not here. They said we'd be on national news tonight lol. And to top it off both hospitals and the police department are running on backup generators. But they said Savannah TN which is right next to Pickwick hasn't had near the rain.

I know most of you guys have already left and won't see this but for any of you who are heading towards pickwick the weather is terrible right now. We just had several tornado warnings expire in Jackson but are experiencing heavy rains and flooding. They are expecting lots more rain ahead. Power is out in some areas due to flooding. Now I'm speaking on weather in Jackson TN which is an hour away from pickwick. I'm sure the weather their is not too much better. Just wanted to give you guys that haven't left a heads up and let you guys know you need to stay alert to the radio while on the way. Also be cautious of the roads and watch for flooding. Hope you guys have a safe trip.

Daiwa Zillion Swimbait rod
Thanks for the advice. I'll take a look at them. The tackletour review says the ratings on the zillion are off and it can throw baits up to 5 oz with no problems. I guess I just need to make a decision now.

Daiwa Zillion Swimbait rod
Has anyone used one of these. I'm thinking about getting one to pair with a pluton and was hoping I could get some opinions on them. I'm looking at the 1/2 to 3 oz rod. If you have another rod to suggest feel free to do so. I've never fished any swimbaits really except a couple of paddletails, but would like to give it a try. If it doesn't work out I'll probably just get a rod for striper and use the pluton for that.

ABU Revo Premier or Shimano CORE, which one???
Just to give you another comparison I've got two SOL's and the core is smoother and casts light baits farther, but the SOL is definitely an awesome reel if you want to fish finesse baits or slow roll crankbaits. If you don't want to spend the money on the Core I'd buy the SOL over the premier if your okay with the lower gears.

beech lake,tn
I've fished beech lake a couple of times but mostly only go there to wakeboard. A month from now there will be too many recreational boats out unless you fish early.

ABU Revo Premier or Shimano CORE, which one???
Get a Core and never look back. I've got the premier and a core 100mgfv. I know it's not the Core that your looking at but just after using mine I already want to get a Core 50mg. Now I can't speak on the 2010 version of the premier but my 2009 version doesn't compare to my Core. The premier is a great reel but the core is worth the extra money. I normally fish with Daiwa reels but after getting my Core and (2) 2500 CI4s I think I might gradually swap over to mainly shimano reels in the future. They both are very light reels and you'd probably be happy with either one but in my opinion it's worth the extra money.

Some April Pre-Spawners (new pic)
That bait looks deadly. Do you remove the pre-rigged weights from the bottom and use just the weight of the football jighead or use both weights?

Some April Pre-Spawners (new pic)
Nice Fish! What kind of lure is that in the 3rd picture down?

Oakleys
I'm sure the Oakley's will work great. I've got 2 pair but neither are polarized. I fish with a pair of copper glass polarized 580 costa del mar glasses. I don't think you can beat the clarity of costas. The only downfall is that since the lenses are glass they can break easier.
