What tackle bag?
That's a good idea. I might look into that. I stepped on the bag once and broke one and the other zipper I'm not sure what happen. The problem though is the zipper guides that run up and down the bags are all made of plastic for whatever reason so that's probably why they are braking so easily.

What tackle bag?
It's mainly to carry stuff to and from the boat. I like that bag and might get it since it's not to expensive but I also want a real fishing bag. I still need to be able to carry line, pliers, scale etc... in my bag. I have a basstracker so there isn't much storage for that type of stuff.

What tackle bag?
Can anyone recommend a good tackle bag that will hold about 5 of the big falcon boxes? I currently have a big red falcon tackle box but all the zippers are starting to brake and fail. I can't find any falcon stuff so I'm guessing they quit making bags? I've looked at the plano and shimano bags and wasn't a big fan of the plano. The shimano look okay but it's kinda hard to tell without actually seeing one. Thanks

Loomis Crank Bait rods
I currently own a CBR 843 and 847. I've been thinking about getting the 845 and using it for my all purpose crankbait rod. I mainly throw traps and crankbaits up to around 8 ft deep. I was wanting to turn my 843 into a topwater rod to throw buzzbaits and pop rs. I've never had a rod dedicated to top water and I feel like it has really hurt my fishing in the past by not always having something top water tied on at the right moments. My question is do you think the 845 will handle the traps and smaller cranks just as good as the 843, or would you just get a Loomis top water rod and keep the 843 for throwing cranks? That was my first thought but I'm not sure how well the top water series will handle buzzbaits and I've already used the 843 for pop r's and buzzbaits and it does just fine. I'd love to hear some opinions from some of you guys with the CB rods or someone who uses the top water series.

anyone watching match fishing
That was so messed up. Even with that kind of money on the line I wouldn't have done that to him. Same here I always enjoy seeing fish being caught!

Pickwick Report (Updated)
Anyone know the water temp at Pickwick right now?

anyone watching match fishing
I think I saw that one the other day. If it's the one I'm thinking about it's pretty funny when he gets one wrapped up in the dock and the guy up front steps on the trolling motor so he can't get it in!

My new 9mms
Nice pistols! I've never shot a CZ pistol or seen any for sale around here but I use to really want one of the CZ .17 caliber varmint rifles.

Is it just me...
I know what you mean. My dad just does the occasional fishing with a bobber and worm. He doesn't nag me to much but I've got 8 or 9 combos and every now and then he will say, "Why do you keep buying all these rods and reels you can only fish with one at a time?" I've just came to the conclusion that unless you fish a lot and truly have the passion that we all here have you just can't understand.

Yea he caught a nice one. I'm curious as to how they did for the day? I hope to get back down there soon. Are you guys interested in keeping this thread updated after every trip to Pickwick? I never mind sharing how I did and love to read about others trips as well.

Anyone like the X-Rap Deep?
ABSOLUTELY! These are a close second to pointers for me, but the perch colored x-rap deep as caught as much or more then my pointers. Definitely stock up! Also I am confused about an earlier post that said they seemed too light to cast??? Has anyone else had this problem? I can chuck them a mile I'm probably just use to throwing my 100sp.

Anyone like the X-Rap Deep?
I've only thrown one a couple of times. It seemed almost to light to cast compared to most jerkbaits and I was using a Daiwa SOL. It might just be me though. I like Jackall jerkbaits.

Ever Been To Obsessed?
I've always fished and enjoyed it, but over the past 3 years I've became obsessed with fishing as well. I don't really think it's a bad thing. There's many other things we could be obsessed with or addicted to that could be worse. Sometimes I get so sick of looking at these same forums and tackle shops over and over everyday, but I just can't stop looking at them! ;D

Pickwick Report (Updated)
I'd fish below. There's about 4 to 5 small coves on the side across from the ramp within a little under a mile. Try working those points with a crawfish colored crankbait or pop r if you get there early in the morning. Last time I went I could pretty much throw that pop r any where I saw a bass hit the top of the water and catch it. There's one cove that has 2 metal poles inside the mouth of it on the right side. I beleive it also has a reflective red sign on a tree near for barges. If you find it troll into it out of the current, throw a couple of top waters back in it then fish a crank bait towards the mouth of it into the channel. We pulled several nice smallmouth out of there. It has a good ledge at the mouth. In the smallie picture above were in that cove looking out into the river. Good luck! Not sure how the bite is since the cold front.

G.LOOMIS ? Need Help
I fish all Loomis except for the 2 Cumara's. Like RW said unless you step up to the IMX, GLX, or NRX I don' t think your going to gain much if any over a Cumara. The Cumara's are great rods. I would just replace the carrot stick if you want to replace a rod. Although I've honestly never fished one to be able to give you a comparison.

Pickwick Report (Updated)
You probably won't see this before you leave but if you put in at the Shell gas station and go past aqua yacht harbor and follow the bank to the right you'll run into a cove that has a white boat shed in it. The water is very low there and there's a lot of mud, but the water starts off really shallow and goes deeper in the back center of the cove. I caught two nice ones with a pop r right there where it drops off. I haven't fished Pickwick but once and I'm sure during the spring and right after summer it's probably more active than the river, but when times are tough I think you'll always have a better chance working the mouths and points of coves on the river side.

Swimbiat rod comparison
Is either handle longer than one on most regular fishing rods?
