Temperature gauge(QuickSilver) on Mercury outboard
I have a question about the temperature gauge on my boat(1996 Mercury 150 EFI). It is a stock gauge with the C and H markings. While working on my boat with me, a friend accidentally hooked my electronics to the trolling batteries while they were bridged to 24 Volts! The temp gauge got stuck past the H all the way down. I took the gauge off and hooked it to the batteries again and it went back down to the C. All other gauges work fine that i can see. I fired the motor up today and the temp gauge was slowly moving up. I don't know what it should be reading though because it has no numbers. Should i replace this gauge or just keep using it.

They have a Minn Kota heavy duty set at Wal-Mart for about $30. I bought it because my old one was heating up and it is tough man!

Hollow body frogs
IMO Spro frogs are nowhere near as good as the R2S. R2S are way softer but don't tear as easily, a lot easier to walk and they don't take in water like the Spros do. I got rid of all the Spros i had(except the poppers) when i tried the R2S.

Dude you must have never fished Kissimmee! They will still bite just not as much.

Adding another battery
All you will need is a new deep cycle battery, 4 gauge jumper cable and a 60 amp inline fuse. Connect the + lead from the TM to the + lead on battery 1. Than connect the - lead from the TM to the - lead on battery 2. Than use a piece of 4 gauge wire and terminals to jump the two batteries(Connect the remaining + and - terminals from the 2 batteries with this).

OK Florida Boys, Winter is Here
I have been doing very good with walk the dog topwaters like the LC Sammy around shallow vegetation. Also, rattle traps have been equally productive. The Carolina rigged Senkos have "killed' em around points with drop offs.

How to fix leaking hollow body frogs?
That is why i stopped using the Spros and switched to the River 2 Sea 65s. They have a small plastic band that goes over the hook and presses up against the opening. Kind of like a trailer hook holder i guess. I have had no issues yet with my R2S frogs.

Raleigh NC area
I use to live in Raleigh when i use younger and let me tell you there is some big bass around. I remember my uncle taking me to some place called Donkey Lake i think. We caught some real hawgs there. It was kind of a drive from Raleigh though!

Re: Bass Boat Saver or Bow to Stern
Which BTS are you guys using? I saw an ICast video clip on their product and they state they have many available(i.e. Wash, protectant etc)?

Re: Bass Boat Saver or Bow to Stern
I will be buying one of the two soon and want to know which is better and which the majority prefers. I have heard many arguments about which is better and i am kind of confused on which to get.

Baits To Put in My Bro's Tacklebox

Revo owners please respond
I have owned most of them but settled on all STXs. I hated the SX personally(to touchy). The STX is very smooth and casts anything a mile.

Trolling Motor Battery
Yes, you will need additional batteries to run a trolling motor. One battery if the trolling motor is a 12 volt system and two if it is a 24 volt(three for 36 volt). Your main motor battery is or should be a cranking battery. You will need deep cycle batteries for a trolling motor. As for chargers, the best way imo would be to get an on-board charger installed. This allows you to charge all batteries in your boat by simply plugging the boat into a wall outlet like those found in your home. You could also get a Schumacher individual charger from Wal-Mart for around $45. I used this for years with no issues until i discovered on-board chargers. Oh yea, don't forget to add a fuse to the + side of the trolling motor to battery wiring. Best of luck
