Making jigs.
Thanks for the information guys! Eventually, I would love to have the equipment to make my own, but i really like the idea of just buying some simple plain jigs for the price and kinda 50/50 the making.. they'll still be personalized minus the making the head part..

Carbonlite......RIP
Yea it wasn't it was my fat A**. LOL! I think no matter how much you weigh, it woulda snapped if someone fell on it! I feel your pain, I've had more rods snap from falling or stepping on them than by settin the hook.

Making jigs.
what does it take to start making jigs and what is the cost approximately? Where would I buy the led to melt? I think it'd be cool to be able to make, paint, and tie my own jigs.. i'm sorry if this topis has been covered a lot. I never usually browse in this section. Thanks guys!

Carbonlite......RIP
I would go with another carbonlite if you liked it.. it wasn't the rods fault that it broke..

missed hook sets on hollow body frog
Although it is harder than heck to resist, you must feel weight on the end of the rod before you sent the hook.. seeing the splash usually doesn't cut it because a bass's first strike is usually to kill the frog and then it has a follow up strike to swallow it.. I set the hook more times than not on that first strike and end up with the frog on my lap. I find that when i wait to feel the pull my hookup ratio is a lot higher

Wacky Rig set-up
I usually use a 7' MH but I think a 7'0 M Fast would work the best..

New rod Advice...Powell Max, Abu garcia verdict +veritas, Dobyns Savy
I also voted for the Powell Max because that is the only rod i've used. I have held the verdict and veritas... Never touched a Dobyns but hopefully that will change.. The powell max is a great rod for 139 dollars.. look in the classifieds here.. sometimes you can get one for around a hundred bucks.. My next rod will be either a Verdict/Veritas/Vendetta for frogging... They are very stout rods..

Mixed message on bait quality
SO... I guess I will lead this discussion to this question... What baits that are on the market now would you automatically want better ones and what brands would you leave the stock hooks on?

Flipping/Punching setup
i also use the tessera, with a chronarch, 65 power pro. how are u liking skeet reese rod? so far i like it, not as light as my crucial but im getting use to it I like it.. I dont use it a whole lot.. I find that I use my 7' MH powell for everything... its so light and sensitive... When I use it I enjoy it.. I get a lot of questions and comments from my bass club members.. Its heavier than the powell, but then again it is also a foot longer than any other rod i own.. So i dont really have anything to compare it to.. Havent had any problems with it and try to use it every trip!
