  1. i wonder how many professional golfers decide to move to Maine to improve there game??
  2. what i am thinking of doing is buying a tandem fishing kayak and fish the pond near home. if things are slow and my daughter wants to go home after an hour then no big deal. probably rig her up with a nightcrawler and just let it free fall. what do you think?
  3. do you prefer to take your kids bass fishing or some other kind of fishing. especially kids that get bored easily.
  4. funny how lots of people like IKE and his cockiness. but since he isnt from calif i guess its not cocky!
  5. i am refering to a state to state basis. not the whole east coast compared to one state so i am thinking of texas and florida to compare to but if some other state i left out lets hear it. jeez do you all get huffy when sports illustrated comes out with the best looking cheerleaders which college they are from and your college is not the one! nothing personal here
  6. well lets look at what calif has that most other places dont have. ideal climate so year round fishing allows someone to spend more time on the water. more people. the more people you have the more the competition which brings out the best of that individual. excellent bass habitats so more people can spend all year improving there skills. Bottom line is do you think your chances of getting together an all star sports team is better if you can choose 10 players out of 100 participants or 10 players out of 15 participants?
  7. i am probably biased here but dont you think the best california bass fishermen can hold there own more so than the best of anywhere else??
  8. i havent seen boat lanes out here. and to idle several miles is my last resort
  9. i now reside in southeast Texas where the lakes are full of submerged stumps. its best to wait and see somebody else run there boat and use him as a decoy but if you dont have that option cause maybe your fishing duirng the middle of the week and not much traffic, how do you handle this?
  10. this is easy JAY YELAS. any God fearing Christian comes first in my book
  11. how many years have you been finding fish in your hotspots due to the lake aging and changing??
  12. i expect more from fishermen and golfers than i do from basketball players and musicians. dont bring fishermen down to the same level as dennis rodman and marilyn manson
  13. i feel that whever someone goes he needs to fit in like the rest of the crowd. can you imagine if tiger came into golf like some gangsta rapper!! or how about your next door neighbor... let his house go to pot neither are breaking any laws are they???
  14. i left southern calif where there are never any thunderstorms to southeast texas where we get 50 inches of rain a year and everytime the forecast says thunderstorms. do you go on with your plans to fish if 80% chance of thundersorms and get off the lake as soon as it starts or do you stay home??
  15. would this lake happen to be santa margaita??
  16. i am looking for a tight fitting cover for my 05 superpro. are there any you know of??
  17. thats because of his role model attitude being the way it is. its the american way to follow the people who set bad examples. lets name them.... rodman, mike tyson, darryl strawberry, anna nicole smith, etc. whatever happened to morals in our society? i still couldnt believe bill clinton lying under oath and getting caught red handed and he is the most liked president in a long time
  18. how many different lakes do you fish normally? do you move around from boredom, success at different times of the year? how far will you drive for a one day trip?
  19. now this goes back to a earlier thread about bass pros not having to be role models that so many people here said. i said from the get go that being in the spotlight and being a role model was part of the job . imagine if these guys were a holes and someones kids who really never had a good role model in his life witnessed such rude behavior instead. Now do you all think bass pros still dont have to conduct themselves above and beyond? i would hope not!!
  20. so if i do hire a guide for rayburn, which i am going to try now that you all convince me, i plan on picking his brain. big time! i dont want to know only what it takes for fishing at the current conditions but thruout the spring. obviously we wont be fishing these spots but i would like to know from past experince where to go and what to use. do guides share this info or only enough to work for the day you hired them for?
  21. if your going to spend a week on unfamaliar waters during the spring? i plan on going to rayburn soon and thought remotely of using one for the first 1/2 day. what would you expect that you couldnt do without one. any input??
  22. reason i ask is the In Fisherman book states that stumps that have lost its branches do not attract bass anymore
  23. does anyone know of a book that shows illustrations of where on a reservior bass are located thruout the year? i want to see a drawing of a map and use it as the discusion to show where the 90% of the fish are on the 10% of the lake with different situations in addition to time of year. i dont want an essay only describing where they are since illustrations are much more understandable. its like trying to describe what somebody looks like where a picture or drawing makes it a whole lot easier.
  24. sorry that didnt come out right. i meant a resivior that is 30 years old and the stumps have lost its appeal
  25. are 30 year old tree stumps productive for you? if so what type of conditions
