We have a meeting the first Monday of every month at the VFW in Champaign. Its a 25 dollar yearly joining fee, and its 15 dollars a tournament.

The tourney is from 6am-2pm, Champaign County Bass Masters is holding the tournament.

I got a tourney on Lake Mattoon this Sunday, I sure hope the bite is better than it has been at Shelbyville!

Yeah, I hope they keep messing around. It would be nice to have open carry lol. They need to leave the rest of Illinois alone and make Chicago a gun free city. They do that and the crime will go WAY down... Morons...

Is that a Clinton lake bass?

I bought some Yo zuri about 3 years ago and still use it, I change my line after every season. I used up the last of it this year after re spooling all my reels. The last tournament I fished in I had my line break twice on hooksets. I really don't think it was my knot (Palomar knot), and one area I wasn't fishing rocks and always check my line. I love this line and have never had this issue, could this just be bad luck or am I pushing the life of this line and should re spool with new line?

Oh it ran good... I just had no need for it anymore.

I sold it for 75... I probably should have waited for more but its out of my garage now...

If you have a jon boat, I have a 3.5hp outboard you can throw on it for a decent price. Let me know.

Pure fishing I think

Fished a two day tourney with it this weekend and loved it! It's my new shakyhead reel now, teamed up with my Abu Villain it's amazing. It casts a mile and can cast it effortlessly.

I don't think so, but then again DSG doesn't have anymore in stock. I think I might hold on to it, from what I have been reading it makes for a great spinnerbait/buzzbait/frog reel. I'll make my citica D my Carolina rig reel now.

It was the only one they had, and I was stupid by not checking it out before I bought it...

I purchased a Quantum smoke for full price yesterday at DSG and think its a pretty nice reel but I just realized its not the latest one out. This one only has 4 brake settings instead of 9. Should I stick with it or return it and get the latest one? I guess what I am getting at is, is the latest version any better than the pervious one besides the extra brakes?

That was it, it was the black screw of the handle side of the reel, then the brakes are on the inside of the plate... Ended up taking it back because I didn't notice an insert was missing on the rod, so I exchanged it for a quantum smoke reel instead.

There is no dial on the side.. This is what I got from DSG'S website "Four pin centrifugal braking system helps prevent backlash" It's the laser speed spool, and I can't even find it on Lew's site ( didn't look for long) all I saw was the laser MG which has mag breaks.

For the people that trim the weed guard, how much do you trim? I don't really trim mine, I just "V" it out...

It didn't come with one, I bought it as a combo. I'll just have to take a closer look. I am working third shift for a couple days and haven't had to to check it out. It doesn't even look like the side plate comes off, and there is no dial on the side.

I have 7 setups already (Abu stx's, citica's, pro qual's, zillion) I know how to setup a baitcaster but can seem to get to the centrifugal breaks.
