What BR member would you choose to fish with...
I would have to say Glenn and Keri since I just missed them last week at Potholes for the Northwest Road Trip. I did fish with Procrafter. Great guy.

NW Roadtrip Anyone?
First of all, I want to say a big thank you to Larry. Man, I had a blast. You were a pleasure to fish with and I hope we get together again soon. Hopefully we'll stay dry this time. ;D Here is the bed fish that was mentioned. I caught it on a Strike King Ocho in junebug. Not only was it my first bed fish, it was my first fish on a senko type bait. The other fish was also the first one caught on a Zoom centipede in watermelon w/ black fleck, tail weighted with a 1/32 oz nail weight. Again, thanks for having me along.

NW Roadtrip Anyone?
Yes we were in the dunes. We saw most fish in shallow, flat bottoms that were pretty clean. Not alot of that green scum. They are definitely moving up and making beds.

NW Roadtrip Anyone?
Matt - He's camping out there and doesn't have internet access. We saw most fish up in shallow flats. Caught them working soft plastics slowly. Water temp was 55*. Hope this helps.

NW Roadtrip Anyone?
Do you think there will be much of a topwater bite? I'm itching to throw a sammy or a frog. Have a safe trip over everyone.

"guests" in clubs
I fished my first tournament as a guest last year. I didn't have to pay anything. Of course, I wasn't eligible for money. I ended up joining the club because I had such a positive experience.

What kind of boat did you fish your first....
My neighbor's 1992 Ranger. It's the first bass boat I've ever been in, much less fished from. I was there the first time he drove it. I'll never forget the look on his face while we were screaming down the Big C. I'm going to miss fishing from that boat.

Ok so what is a TIGER BASS>
From what I just read online, they are an aggressive, fast growing hybrid of Florida and Northern strain LMB. http://www.americansportfish.com/?option=com_content&view=article&id=34&Itemid=60

NW Roadtrip Anyone?
Are you guys going to be there Glenn? I'm meeting ProCrafter Saturday morning for the day. I need some fun fishing after a dismal tournament last weekend.

Walleye lures
Blade baits are very popular around here for 'eyes. Trolling worm harnesses (ie. wedding rings or wally poppers) on a bottom bouncer is also effective.
-
Unorthodox techniques?
Sounds like a similar technique used in trolling for trout or kokanee. I believe they are call cowbells. Trip down memory lane for you Tony. How about dragging a sammy behind the boat, twitching it just enough to make it walk while your fishing partner trolls back up a certain slough for another pass.

Driving by bodies of water....DO YOU
I went with my neighbor to go look at a boat in Troutdale, Oregon last summer and the route took us along the Columbia River. We picked apart that stretch the whole time. I also am always on the look out for game such as deer or turkeys.

Tournament #2 - Snake River
Fished my bass club's second tournament this past weekend on the Snake river. Day 1 - Launched around 0630 and started our run down river. As soon as we rounded the first bend we were pelted by 30 mph winds and 3-4 foot swells. Not good in an 18 foot aluminum bass boat. Even the guys in the much more stable rigs slowed way down. After a long and very rough run, we get to an area of much calmer water and decide to start here. After about an hour, and a couple rod changes, I throw a 1/4 oz lipless crank and the first strike of the day. And it's a decent fish. I get up to the boat and just as my partner goes to land it, the hooks pop free. 2 pounder, gone. Oh well, it's early. We get no more strikes in that area, so we move on. After another rough run we get to the spot we originally wanted to start at. After a few cast with the same lipless, I get another strike and this time I land it. It's a small fish, not even a pound, but it's a fish in the live well. We spend alot of time in this area. Nothing. We decide that we'll hit the spot we started at. My partner picks up 2 fish there in the last hour before we have to head back for weigh in. I ended the day with a dismal .67 lbs. Day 2 - The winds are much calmer than they were on day 1. We decide to start in the same area as the first day. Nothing. We decided to move to where I picked up my only fish. On the way we spot a small cove and decide to give it a try. My partner throws a white crankbait at one of the points and gets a strike. Not a big fish, but a start. After thoroghly working the cover and no more fish, we move on to where we were headed. Again we spend alot of time in there with nothing to show for it. So we head back upstream. We get to a spot where a buddy of ours caught a nice largemouth in last year's tourney. This spot is shallow, 5 feet max. We work in the cove and back out with no hits. There is a large log stuck in the bottom at the mouth of the cove, mostly exposed. My partner throws a white spinnerbait at it and slow rolls it. He feels bottom and right where it drops off, he gets a hit but loses it at the boat. he throw right back and gets another strike. He lands it this time. He throws right back and gets another one! I throw and get a strike but somehow my knot slipped. Bye bye lipless crank! He ends up with 3 fish off this one log. We decide to end the day where we started. We work the shore line with lots of follows but no hits. I decide to downsize while my partner up sizes. He tosses a crankbait and gets a big hit. I see the fish in the water and it's a nice one. He lands it and it's a 3 pounder. I throw my jointed Rapala crank in the same area and a fish just drills it. I land it and although it's not a big fish, I didn't get skunked. Just before headed in for weigh in, my partner upgrades the first fish he caught. We get back to weigh in and my fish weighs 1.49 pounds, but it gave me a hell of a fight on my light action rod. I end up with just over 2 lbs total. My partner ends up with over 7 lbs. Big fish for the weekend was a 6.18 lb beast of a smallie. Although I was pretty disappointed with my performance, I still had fun. Stay tuned for tournament #3 next month on the Pend Oreille River.

Biggest Fish You Ever Hooked
Yes I have. I used to fish for sturgeon near the turbins of a local dam. I decided to check my bait and went to reel in but my weight was snagged on the bottom. So I walked back trying to pop it free. When it did, something pulled back. I tried to loosen the drag but it was to late. The way I figure it, a stu had sucked up bait and just sat there. When the weight popped free, it set the hook. I don't know how big it was but it was strong enough to drag me a little on the gravel.

Hi from Idaho!
Welcome neighbor!

Backlash tips???
Practice, practice, practice. You'll start to get a feel of how much thumb pressure to apply and when you're about to get a backlash. I'm sure others will have more tips.

Boater or NON Boater?
I don't own a boat so I fish from shore. Unless I'm fishing a tournament or hook up with a boater for a trip. Mostly shore though.

Matzuo Zen Swimbait
I beg to differ. I caught the fish in my avatar and a 4 lb'er in the same day on a Matzuo Huntin' Dawg. I've caught more fish on that lure than I have on a LC Sammy. Best $2.50 I've spent.

Favorite Bass You've Ever Caught and Why?
I have 2 favorites. First one is my PB, but not only for that reason. I was shore fishing on a local lake using a topwater. After hooking the fish, I knew it was a big one. Just off shore, a couple guys in a bass boat were messing around with something when they heard the splash from my fish. I had to get in the water to land this fish due to the way the bank was undercut and there was no way I could lift this and not break my rod. So there I was, knee deep in the water with those two guys watching me. I finally got ahold of the fish and ripped that thing out of the water like I was weighing in at the classic. Needless to say, those guys looked a little jealous. Best guess on the weight was around 6. The next was at the same lake. Matter of fact, it was my first time fishing this lake. I was with my neighbor (FishermanTony on this site). We were walking by the swimming area of the park and there was one of those floating docks anchored up. Tony tosses his Sammy right next to it and after a few twitches, a smallie drills it. After he lands it, I eyeball that same spot. I toss my Sammy over, and another smallie hits. What made it better was that there was a tournament boat that saw the whole thing. They left. True story!

Another monster bass from Japan
Man that's a big fish. I sent the pic to my wife. All she could say was he's long arming it. ;D

What does your name (Handle) mean?
Mine is pretty obvious. I hunt and fish in the Spokane area.
- Carp! HELP?

NW Roadtrip Anyone?
I'm assuming you mean May1-9. I might be able to talk the wife into letting me go up for a day. ProCrafter - Are you fishing alone? Would it be possible for me to fish on your boat? I don't have one.
