  1. That's wonderful, God bless all of you!
  2. Windless days also allow forage to settle which makes them harder targets for bass. Wind causes the water to stir which pushes forage out and makes it more vulnerable.
  3. Very nice! Big accomplishment, congrats!
  4. Ike, Edwin Evers, Tim Horton I think they are all good guys and Ike above all because of his passion and how good he is.
  5. 5:30? Do you like to sleep in? LOL I am at my favorite spot by then and fishing it!! Make it 4:00am and you got a deal!! Maybe he's referring to the tournament banner, launch in our club out in the Northwest is 0600, daylight permitting. For fun fishing I agree 0400 sounds good!
  6. 1992 Ranger 372IV w/ 150 HP Mercury XR6. I'm the third owner. Boat was originally owned in Texas, I bought it with the Texas plate still on and a Lake Alan Henry sticker on it. It's home is now Spokane Wa.
  7. Wow that is old school! A Strike King Coffee Tube. That is a big fish for sure.... Skinny but still a big one. The Strike King Coffee tube is one nice tube IMO!
  8. No problem brother. Not long now, huh? Man, I wish we could take one more trip out. I'm not the same fisherman I was last time we went. Learned a few more techniques and gotten better at "seeing" the water. I'm not the same fisherman either.
  9. Thank you man! That is the first time I have seen it at all in 6 months! I am so exited!
  10. Yes, sure was nice having you take the 5 1/2 trip with me to pick it up, I'd probably still be missing! And to think how we stumbled upon that boat........I brought you inside to show you the absolute lemon I was going to go rush and buy and happened to look at the Portland area and for a few hundred bucks and miles more.............love at first sight! Even when I upgrade I'd like to keep that boat, maybe pass it on to my boys. You got some pics? Sure does sound like an interesting boat with a good story! I'm gone right now and don't have any pics with me, but I'll probably post some when I get home. It's a 92 Ranger 372V with a 150 Merc XR6. HuntFishspokane and I took a 5 1/2 hour trip through some of the most beautiful part of the country IMO, mostly along the Columbia River, met a real gentleman who couldn't have been more helpful, even after I got it home! He held it for a couple of days for me and had people calling about it when we were test driving it. Just special to me because it seems like someone was looking after me. I came real close to buying a boat that I'm almost certain would have been a lemon and I would be miserable with it right now.

  12. My wife kept using the word "wait" and I realized I could end up waiting forever, so I pulled the trigger and got a nice used boat. Now she is saying we need to go out on it every day when I get home and she regrets not going out with me alot more last summer.
  13. Get one! Life is to short! I know that may be easier said then done and I don't know your situation but if there is a feasible way for you to do so, you should. Look at that Nitro in the pics, fantastic deal on a nice boat!
  14. LOL... dude im only refering to the original rattle trap. The Captiva "Vibe" Rattle trap is my favorite fall/winter lure. A strike king lipless crank bait was KVD's go to bait to win the 2010 classic, not the same as the original Rat L Trap. I have to say I'm not crazy about the original Rat L Trap either, doesn't seem to have the same action as the strike king or a Bagley's for me. Maybe just user error!
  15. "had to start at the very bottom...............speak no English, no sponsors, no friends, all I want is just to become a better angler." That is it. Inspirational.
  16. The 10lb flouro might not be enough for the Carolina Rig application depending on the weight you are using. Normally you're looking at a heavier weight, like 1oz or heavier. The 10lb flouro might be good for your leader after your swivel, with your main line being a braid or a little heavier mono. That 10lb or lighter flouro might be good for something called a split shot rig, that is similar to a c-rig but more of a finesse presentation. Anyway, congrats on joining the club and just have a blast!
  17. Congrats! It gets better and better and better!!!!
  18. Brute! Congrats!
  19. I don't believe in wasted trips, I used to and all it did was bring me down. Now, if I don't catch any fish I recap the outing and take what I can learn from it? Why didn't I catch any fish? What can I do next time so I do catch them? If I do that and enjoy the beautiful outdoors every trip is a success. Catching fish just enhances my excitement!
  20. Just ordered a package of tackle from them and they shipped and delivered my goods faster than any other tackle shop I have ever ordered from. There responses to questions or concerns via e mail are just as fast. They have made me feel very comfortable shopping with them and I'm sure the bait monkey will lead me back there many times.
  21. Thanks for the additional input. Wish I was home and could inspect it while I'm getting this advice. I'm deployed overseas and will be home in a little over a month. TommyBass, I believe the area in front of the motor that you are talking about is where my friend said to apply it. A pic of the area would be great since I can't see my motor, I guess I can google some images or have my wife take a pic and send it to me. Well, I think I'll try the grease before replacing the cables.
