  1. I am new to building and am currently in the process of building my first one. I am kind of confused on the different types of blanks available. I see there are Mag Bass, Popping, Flipping, Regular Rx Blanks. I am pretty sure that a Moderate action rod should be used for the likes of SpinnerBaits, CrankBaits maybe some top waters, while fast action would be used for tubes, jigs, jerkbaits, worms, and some top waters but how in the world do all these different type blanks play into the world? Is there somewhere that explains all this that I missed in all my research? Anyone care to try and explain if there is no such place to be found? Or is it more of a trial and error type thing that is individual preference? Thanks guys, Tommy
  2. For me its a toss up between Triple Fish Flouro and BPS Signature Series Flouro

  8. I think its a long shot at best for one of us to get a win. But I do like your chances better than ours of not going 0-16 ;D
  9. I am in the same boat > :-? :
  10. I would try the palomer knot. Its what worked best for me when I was using braid.
  11. To the best bass fishing site on the net. You have chosen a good home.
  12. Have a fun and safe trip.
  13. I agree 100% with you. I am always early and kind of expect everyone else to be too. Thats the way I was brought up and I am now trying to teach this to my wife and kids. The kids are doing alot better than the wife. I just tell her I want to leave an hour before I really want to and then she is USUALLY ready when I actually wanted to leave. Back on topic.. 10 mins is way more than enough time to wait on someone.
  14. Yep you should be fine, and any time is better than no time
  15. I like to get out as early as possible. Only time I plan on going later in the day is in the dead of winter.

Thanks GMan, for some reason I had it in my head that TU was only for lure making. I will have to give that place another look.

I am looking to get started in pouring my own jigs. Mainly tube jig heads and football tube jig heads right now but will probably in time want to do more than this. Is there any websites that are dedicated to jig making or have a lot of information on about the subject? I was wondering what places you guys get your supplies from like molds, hooks, and lead, basically anything I might need? I mainly want to do these to fish soft plastics with as in tubes, grubs and what not, but might later decide to give tying my own hair jigs and stuff. So if you know of any good places to get info on tying that would be helpful as well. Thanks guys, Tommy
  20. Unfortunatly MudCatWilly I am still in the frustrating learning curve. How something so frustrating can be so much fun is beyond me ;D
  21. PA Angler I would be interested to see how you like the reel after using it for a few outings. I have been kicking around getting one of these myself for the new rod. As for now my favorite is Pflueger President
