  1. How long is that shrimp? The more I look at that, the more I think it would make a good jig trailer.
  2. Way to toot your own horn Big-O... HA Just kidding, you toot that horn all you want because you are absolutely correct! Is there anything a Rage Tail can't do? Anaconda's make good snakes too
  3. +1, nothing is worse than rowing (or even running the TM at full speed) and taking 30 minutes+ to get to a spot. I would stay as close to the launch as you could. Heck, if there are docks, FISH the launch If you do decide to go too far from the launch, watch the weather. Nothing is worse than being stuck out in the middle of the lake and having to row for your life!
  4. Rage Products and Netbaits are now the ONLY two trailers I will use. Rage Craws are my number 1 t-rigged bait by far. I love how Rage products are simple, yet produce a ton of action. There isn't 23847 appendages coming off the body! Rage keeps it simple and wins!
  5. Actually the Susky near Shamokin Dam is so wide and slow it's like a lake, but I don't know if that's too far east for the group. http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&geocode=&q=Blue+Marsh+Lake,+PA&sll=37.0625,-95.677068&sspn=54.137829,79.013672&ie=UTF8&hq=&hnear=Blue+Marsh+Lake&ll=40.886849,-76.785936&spn=0.042761,0.090895&t=h&z=14 Maybe we should just do the "Bass Resource PA Lake Tour 2010 - 30 lakes in 30 days"
  6. Gotta watch fishing those small Reservoirs inside those state parks. Most of them are fed by mountain run off and are FREEZING and are only good for trout. They will say there's bass in them, but they are almost impossible to catch nor are they any size Edit: Marsburg looks nice, that would be a heck of a drive for Francho though HAHA.
  7. Super 8 here in Burnham would run you like $60 a night. I'll find you a room once we figure out where we're fishin'.
  8. Francho we don't want you New Yorkians ruining our time... Ha just kidding. I'll PM when we figure something out (or just keep watching). Is Raystown too far for you guys? I know it's BIG but if we launch from Synder's Run or James Creek we can stay back in the no wake areas. There's some big old fish in the coves. http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&geocode=&q=raystown+lake&sll=40.442407,-78.039343&sspn=0.010354,0.030899&ie=UTF8&hq=&hnear=Raystown+Lake&ll=40.399379,-78.073311&spn=0.172299,0.363579&t=h&z=12 I dropped Lat/Long markers at the access's. Edit: The markers didn't stick, here is Snyder Run http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&geocode=&q=raystown+lake&sll=40.442407,-78.039343&sspn=0.010354,0.030899&ie=UTF8&hq=&hnear=Raystown+Lake&t=h&ll=40.442505,-78.035588&spn=0.021524,0.045447&z=15 and here is James Creek: http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&geocode=&q=raystown+lake&sll=40.442407,-78.039343&sspn=0.010354,0.030899&ie=UTF8&hq=&hnear=Raystown+Lake&t=h&ll=40.366885,-78.151159&spn=0.021548,0.045447&z=15
  9. http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&geocode=&q=faylor+lake+pa&sll=41.440925,-74.96109&sspn=0.084803,0.181789&ie=UTF8&hq=&hnear=Faylor+Lake&ll=40.786001,-77.188568&spn=0.085653,0.181789&z=13 Walker is a big bass lake. It just has a HUGE crappie die off but I'm going to fish it this weekend to see if the bass were effected at all. Faylor is just down the road but it's NO motors at all (Rowing only). It's a great lake to fish from shore though. They are both stocked with Northerns too
  10. Susky might be too swift for us electric guys I think boatnic mapped Redman and Williams both... I know he just did Walker too, but that would be a hike for you guys.
  11. Man you guys got STYYYYYYYYYLE... Looked like a fun trip. I don't think I could fish in suspenders though.
  12. We should all go fish on some private property, make a huge mess, take all the fish out of their pond and put signs up "BASS RESOURCE WAS HERE!" Pillage like pirates! No seriously, I'm glad to see so much interest in such a short amount of time. Oprcsr - do you have any other suggestions from that area? I don't know the southern part of the state too well. I don't care what size the lake is, as long as it has fish in it I'm forcing boatnic to come with us too!
  13. I think the Rage line is going to take over every other soft plastic... First the Crab, then the Shrimp, now this! When are you coming out with a 2 foot swimbait for muskies? You going to start making Rage Flies next? HA
  14. I have never fished Redman or Williams either but I see them mentioned here. I'm sick of fishing the same 4 lakes anyway so it would be a nice change for me We can let this thread ride for a little and see where everyone is coming from, then decide from there. Weekends work better for you guys? I work M-F and I'm out of vacation days HAHA.
  15. Hey, I just realized what they were trying to get across because you asked the question so thanks I was confused about that area too, but I just didn't ask haha
  16. I have an electric boat too. Well, it has an outboard but it's out of commission at the moment How far is Redman for everyone? EDIT: heres a map http://maps.google.com/maps?hl=en&q=redman+lake+pa&ie=UTF8&hq=&hnear=Lake+Redman&ll=39.891168,-76.69487&spn=0.043398,0.090895&z=14 Edit again: Or Pinchot: http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&geocode=&q=pinchot+lake+pa&sll=40.073573,-76.88889&sspn=0.021641,0.045447&ie=UTF8&hq=&hnear=Pinchot+Lake&z=14 Any other suggestions? I want to try and get something close for everyone (gonna be hard).
  17. I see NH had some success with there meet up and I've noticed a ton of Pa members joining lately. Who would be up for a meet up? We could fish a lake or river (Susquehanna!) that is central to the mass of people (it looks like a lot of you are near the York, Harrisburg area). I'd be willing to travel anywhere! Who's with me! We can iron out the details once we get people willing to do it.
  18. The cap is leaking... http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/36740125/vp/34328514#34328514?from=en-us_msnhp&GT1=43001
  19. I realize this has been covered a ton of times, but to mojo's defense, if you search for North American Fishing Club there is only 3 threads that come up with no info in them. Maybe there should be a sticky with all these products that we hate in them
  20. Need more weight to get it to the bottom more quickly (or too the strike zone). Make sure you are casting up current and bring it down current (smallies will face into the current and watch for prey to drift by). If they are feeding on the bottom, get a craw imitator like a jig or t-rig in their face and they won't refuse it. My favorite for smallies is a Bitzy bug jig in black with a rage chunk. If they are feeling really aggressive, I'll give them a bigger jig with a whole rage craw. Try and work your lure SLOOOW because of the heat, smallies are a cold water species by nature (actually they are classified as a cold water transitional species) and they don't like heat. If they are suspended, try smaller cranks, spinnerbaits or jerks. Usually I will just throw these out and let them drift down river with a twitch now and then. Swimbaits in the 4 inch range are also killers for smallmouth. SLOOOW roll them though.
  21. Anytime! Morning and late evening: Topwater (you could try this all day depending on cloud cover and temp). Extreme heat and cloudless skies (even after a front): Slow and small. You don't HAVE to fish deep, but it's a good chance the big ones will be deep. If you stay shallow (3 to 8 ft) look for grass. Wacky rigging over grass is killer in the heat, so is pulling t-rigs though (although your going to pull up a lot of salad. Just keep bringing it in and re casting). Sometimes if you give it a quick jerk, you can pull the salad off and keep fishing. The small profile of smaller baits tends to go weedless better than big bulky baits. If the water temps are dropping after extreme heat, I like to clip the tops of grass with a floating crank. Once you feel the grass, stop cranking and let it float up, then repeat.
  22. Ah, we usually make the drive to OC but we only stayed for 2 days so we didnt this time. I like fishing off the piers in OC (although I wish some of them were a little closer to the water. On some of them you toss out half your line just getting it into the water ).
  23. Slowing down is almost essential in this summer heat (especially now, we have lake temps almost hitting 90). I wouldn't say I take 15 minutes to bring a tube, worm or jig back, but it's def. more than 5 minutes. I fish intense heat just like I do intense cold, slow and small.
  24. Hey thanks for the info. I was going to grab a charter, but we planned this trip 1 week before we left. Guess I should have took some bucktails along Which carter did you use? I was looking at a few but there are a TON of charters going out of that area. I'm going back down in Sept. so hopefully I'll be able to nail some fish! I think I'll just rent the proper equipment next time (you can get surf and jettie rods from Old Inlet for like $9 a day).
