It would be interesting to hear your comments when you've gone out with the latest technology and fished all day and still got skunked. Don't think it can happen to you? Hmmm.

Ok, so if I have my rig washed, tackle organized, wear red shoes and a stinky red cap that doesn't say Gamakatsu, stinky shirt with no red in it, and underwear with no red, leave the wife and kids home, make sure there's a Y in the day...uuuhhhmmmm....., make sure the lake hasn't gone dry.....uuuhhhmmmm...., take no banana or camera, , eat a cookie, take a lucky coin, rusty pliers, go when the cows are standing up and the bats are flying, look for a bird flying nearby, cast into dead water first where carp are busting, say "this spot sucks, this is my last cast, we haven't caught any in a while", don't pick my teeth with a worm hook, dip my hat in the water, wipe blood and slime on my already stinky red cap, use a fresh worm, no water in the livewell until I catch a fish, oh, and don't brush my teeth......(deep breath)...then I'm GUARANTEED to have an awesome day! GOT IT! WOW! WHAT is that awful smell? Anyone wanna go fishing with me??

I've spent hours on end reading on this and other sites, reading magazines, and talking to people about bass fishing, not to mention the hours out on the water "putting together the puzzle" for that day. The hardest thing for me is focusing on where to start. Some days I get out on the water and just go blank on what spot to hit first, what bait to start throwing, when to switch or when to believe in my technique and be patient. It's a comedy of guesses. In golf I called that " paralysis by analysis"

It's mostly true what you guys are saying about comparing the two. I just like to poke a little fun when the opportunity arises. They're in two different classes. The Ferrari has been engineered and built using no budget constraints. Using R&D from F1, again no budget. The Vette on the other hand is in a world of budgets. I think they've put together a pretty darned good car given the constraints of the budget. It makes me wonder what the Vette engineers could do with the spaghetti guys' money. I guess I'm just a little ornery. Sorry Robert.

I think it's fun teasing the Italian car nuts into a fury. I'm a Vette fan because I'm a red blooded American and the Vette is a red blooded American too. Don't get me wrong, I think the Italian cars are pretty awesome. If I could afford one I'd have one sitting next to my Vette(s). Generally speaking, they're more refined and have much better interiors. I guess I'm just a bang for the buck guy and for me you just can't beat a Corvette. This video is what I'm talking about...

This info quoted from Doug Vahrenberg on another site... The 360 Imaging is an Ethenet Accessory that is controlled and operated by Ethernet Hook-up. It can be hooked direct to a single unit or connected via a 5 Port Ethernet Hub to Multiple Units. Since the Ethernet Hubs are stackable (connect via cable to one another) the Number of Units running a Humminbird is endless you just need multiple hubs and it can be done. As of the official release only the current Ethernet Systems on the 798ci HD, 898c, 998c, and 1198c can operate the 360 Imaging. Units already in the field will only need software update that Humminbird will provide at no charge to allow the 360 Imaging to connect to models that are already in the field. The only ethernet unit not compatible at this time is the 1197c which the internal working of the Ethernet system are different...my understanding they are reviewing to see if future compatibility will be adaptable.

I've never been able to see anything in 3D on my 1197 screen. They claim there is a 3D feature with the platinum card. It probably is operator error. I've just never taken the time to dive into that issue.

One of my buddies talks way too much, especially when I'm sight fishing and trying to concentrate, or when we're in a spot that any noise could spook fish! I like to talk, but I hate it when someone just yaks and yaks about nothing. Irritating.

Wayne, A those 1197s or 98s? What is the diff between unimap and contour xd? Is that why I can't use the 3d feature in the navionics platinum on my 1197?
