  1. Didn't know any of this! I have four children under ten years old and a pool in the backyard. Thank you for this post!!
  2. Cheaper?? Have you priced the Stella lately? I think your head must be spinning.
  3. This song says a lot if it for me. I have days where I hate my job This little town and the whole world too And last Saturday when the (Irish) lost Lord, it put me in a bad mood I have moments when I curse the rain Then complain when the sun's too hot I look around at what everyone has And I forget about all I've got But I know I'm a lucky man God's given me a pretty fair hand Got a house and a piece of land A few dollars in a coffee can My old trucks still running good My ticker's ticking like they say it should I got supper in the oven, a good woman's loving And one more day to be my little kid's dad Lord, knows I'm a lucky man Got some friends who would be here fast I could call 'em any time of day Got a brother who's got my back Got a mama who I swears a saint Got a brand new rod and reel Got a full week off this year Dad had a close call last spring It's a miracle he's still here But I know I'm a lucky man God's given me a pretty fair hand Got a house and a piece of land A few dollars in a coffee can My old trucks still running good My ticker's ticking like they say it should I got supper in the oven, a good woman's loving One more day to be my little kid's dad Lord, knows I'm a lucky man Oh, my old trucks still running good My ticker's ticking like they say it should I got supper in the oven, a good woman's loving And even my mistake days ain't that bad Yeah, I'm a lucky man, I'm a lucky, lucky man
  4. You're probably right. I think it probably happened at the launch, or in a parking lot while i was at a restaurant or something. I don't have any neighbors who have bass boats. My neighbors are all pretty good friends. Someone didn't want me to notice for sure. I guarantee one thing, it won't happen again.
  5. Naah. It's been too long for any of my friends to have waited. I don't have any friends that would do such a thing really. Still have no answers. I guess I'll be calling Mark from Mark's Props soon to get it refurbished, or maybe I'll just buy a new prop. Either way, I'm out at least $350.
  6. This reminds me of one of my favorite quotes. From "Cheers"... Everyone in bar (as Norm walks in): "Norm!" Sam Malone: "What cha up to Norm?" Norm (walking quickly to his barstool): "My ideal weight if I were nine feet tall!"
  7. That reminds me of another one... Spare the rod and spoil the child.
  8. Ok Mike, I'm not sure yet about needing a roomie, or if I'll have room in my boat though. I guess I can pm you with any updates.
  9. Braid with a fluoro leader. How heavy depends on what you're pitching. Usually pretty heavy.
  10. I don't think I've paid more than $220 for any of my extremes.
  11. Mike, I have some more to send to you. I'll download the form and get em out to you. Give em the worxxx! I don't think the reels you did for me last year have gotten enough use since then to justify another round. I'll just get the new ones to you this time, unless someone makes a convincing argument otherwise. Does anyone know a synonym for a Chronarch 50mg tuned by Mike? The answer is: BUTTER!
  12. I think I'd smile like that too if I caught that fish!
  13. RW is that going from flipping to swim jigs (top to bottom)? Is that what you use them for almost exclusively?
  14. I was asking because I'm planning a family trip to Orlando after the Roadtrip. We will be flying and wanted to get some cheap advice from a guy I KNEW had experience in that subject. As for the Roadtrip, I'm committed already, just haven't filled out Long Mike's Registration sheet yet (waiting on a buddy to decide one way or the other). My tackle is coming free of charge behind my truck in my boat. I to would be happy to lend some gear to someone who might need something. I'm REALLY looking forward to this spring!!!
  15. Watch the flea market forum for deals. There are always Dobyn's rods posted for sale. I've bought all but one of my Dobyn's rods from here.
  16. Well, after that convincing argument, I stand corrected. I certainly thought nothing would come close to Erie for smallies. Time will certainly tell us. Just might have to look up MNGeorge!
  17. It took em awhile to get my tackle bag and other stuff to me. I can't remember exactly when I sent the card in but I'm thinking it's been almost two months. It is a small black and blue bag. Kinda cheap, but I'll find something to put in it. I like the Mag the best. It has some pretty good articles in it.
  18. My dad spent 23 years in the military, he read this post and his response was, what you'd expect from a career Army guy... "If ya can't run, then ya better be a good shot.". Yeah, he's always been that harsh. He said he hated running too and early in his career he wore his boots everywhere to get his feet used to them. Best of luck man, you're in our prayers.
  19. Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero Translated: Seize the day, putting as little trust as possible in the future. I think it can be originally credited to the Roman poet Horace.
  20. Glenn, What is your typical method for bringing your tackle. Do you ship it ahead, or check it, or what?
  21. You ARE driving, RIGHT Glenn? After all, it IS a Roadtrip! Hey RW, there might be a way to bottle all that "bad air" and start your own catfish bait company. You could call it "Bad Air Baits"! Rage Tail is already taken.
  22. Borderline, If youre looking for the next great southern adventure, look no further than our BassResource annual Roadip. This year being held at Lake Guntersville, Alabama. Check out the pinned thread in this forum for all the info. A guaranteed good time. Also, I might add to Borderlines post, a good way to check for structure in a small pond is to cast a heavy jig and drag it along the bottom "feeling" for structure. You might spook a few fish the first time you get hung up, but now you know where it is.
  23. Another key to success, especially in small ponds, is to give the fish something they likely have not seen before. Like a Fat Ika, or a Rage Tail space monkey, for instance. You say it is fairly pressured water, that just might make the difference. Use natural colors in clear water, green pumpkin, or watermelon/red flake.
  24. Maybe I should try to get my wife a new rod and reel for V day. She doesn't fish, but hey, it's worth a try right?
