I don't want to "Jack" the guys thread, but what is the "take/bite" like. Another words do they take and you need to set right away, or is it more like a live bait "take". Where they could mouth it, drop and come back, and take it again? I don't know if I am expressing it right, but I think you know what I mean. silvercliff I know what your saying, I will always set the hook as soon as my bobber/float moves the slightest bit my hook up ratio has been pretty good. as far as gulp products go alot of guys around here use the small minnows 1- in. on a small jig and do fairly well

Made my way around several ccfp lakes yesterday, caught a couple small LMBs when at hosretail, also noticed alot of dead bass and a couple trout washing up on shore, heading back to turtlehead with the kids this afternoon(spring break) I'll put the kids on the crappie while I search for that monster bass

I 've seen two good choices mentioned. Shimnao symetre, which i just picked up two in the 3000 series, its the same body as the 2500 but weighs less with a larger line cap. pflueger president is also a nice reel for the money

I was at turtlehead today got 2, maybe 14 or 15 in.ers but I had a huge bass follow my trap 4x in to shore but no bite. Ill be back there tuesday late morning.

Today was my first time out this year, only two 14/15in. ers. but I was throwing a rat'l trap and had a huge bass follow my trap in to the shallows 4x, on 4 casts in a row, he chased it but but backed off when it got to shore. the first two times i was ripping it fast, then slowed it down on the last two,chased but no bite. what would you throw next? or just keep throwing the rat'l ?

Burr oak woods is on the eastside of harlem across the street from turttlehead(westside of harlem) . I am going to stop out there about 10:30 or 11:00 to check it out, might be alittle muddy from the rain, if so I'll go over to arrowhead. If you see a chevy colorado silver thats me.

Arrowhead is a ccfp lake 135th. st. just east of harlem There is also turttlehead lake on harlem just south of 135th. st. both of these are nice bass lakes.

NiNeR. try Arrowhead its a good bass lake, kind of tough at times but has good size fish. I'll prob. be there mon. or tue. late morning

Every bass is cpr in my book, the only fish I'll keep are ones caught in Lake Michigan salmon, trout or perch. theres a big debate here on perch fishing, they close fishing for perch for the month of july, when most think that april spawning season would be better time to shut down. even crappie fishing I might keep a few but most go back

Which lakes do you need info on? I live alittle north of you in MT.Greenwood 111th kedzie, I fish all over the southern cook county lakes and with all this rain and mild temps I'll be going out early next week
