  1. My weekend just ended. It rained without stopping, the temp was 40 degrees and we had winds over 20-25. My home lake is just now hitting 50 degrees. Ask me about next week Glenn ? Clear Lake. Can't wait. BTW my club just fished a tourny closer to you and not one fish was weighed in for 15 boats. That about says it all.
  2. Can those be translated into Latin ?
  3. I believe it's produced by Reaction Innovations and is neutral in weight and was designed to protect the nose of baits like the skinny dipper from sliding the hook shank. I don't know if it's still available.
  4. For years and years a 1/4 oz. was my duty bait. The manufacture went out of business. Now I fish 1/2 oz. baits 95% of the time for both LM and SM. I run two primary colors depending on water color, bluegill or glimmer shad. Blade configurations change with conditions with a double willow getting the most duty. Just a little off the subject. I picked up one of the Plano 3700 series spinnerbait boxes, the one that you sit them up and clip the arms in place. It holds 39 baits and works awsome. I reccommend that box to anyone who is looking for a way to keep their spinnerbaits.
  5. My oldest boy used to say the funniest stuff. I forget it though. He's 39. Cliff did I put my pills in the box with your crankbaits ?
  6. A guy thought he was buying illegal oxycodone on the street and it was actually some type worm pill for dogs. That my friends is an oxymoron.
  7. I've had great success with the Lews Tournament MG deep spool at 129.99 or the Tournament series at 149.99 ( dual cast control ). The previously mentioned reels are also great performers. You have several options.
  8. Now I get it. If I use a 7.1 instead of a 6.4, I will slow the onset of bursitis in my elbow by 11%. I'm sold.
  9. Wait until you catch a 9 foot wolf eel. Yuckeeeee.
  10. Watch your slot limit if you have one in effect.
  11. I depends on the techniques you plan to apply and the rods you match them with. If you have need to get a lure back quickly as in pitchin, that's one. If you plan on burnin a spinnerbait or buzzbait, that's two and so on. Do you have a 5.4 to 1 to crank with ? If not, maybe consider that ratio.
  12. If it makes little or no difference Siebert and Northstar are going to alot of trouble for nothing.
  13. My Dora the Explorer combo. Perfect for playing with the cat. I may upgrade to the Barbie. The rest of my stuff works pretty good too.
  14. No pike here John. I did get a six pound trout and my buddy got a 9 pound walleye on a FT Normans.
  15. I have been using Yo Zuri 6 through 20 on spinning and baitcast for over two years. The 20 is somewhat stiff but not bad at all. The 6 and 8 on my spinning reels has been outstanding. I have experienced zero twist or coiling issues that is caused by the line. I fished a whole season with the same line on my tube rod. No issues. I can't explain why you have problems. I don't need a refund. I'm more than satisfied. My reels are Shimano Saros 3000 if that's a help. I always close the bail mannually.
  16. Stained water and smallmouth. Normans DLN in western firetiger has been berry berry good to me.
  17. Communicate !!!!!! My old fishing partner used to plant me on the bank he was so close. I simply asked him to give me some space and he abliged, no problem. I would do the same for him when we took my rig. My new tournament partner is a gentleman and gives me ample opportunities. I actually don't mind the back seat. It's easier on my back, that's for sure.
  18. This is some of the best dialogue I have read since joining. Newer anglers need to read this exchange. For me, bass fishing is situational. I love to expierment by nature. My bank account proves it. I always tried to find what lure or technique was best suited for success in a situation and then EXPLOIT that and give that lure or technigue a fair shot. That is eactly how I developed my skills for flipping back in 1980. The same practice worked for drop shotting. I advocate that more than " whats your favorite brand of thisanthat." Thanks Catt.
  19. The date codes on the price tags of my CU200b's is 1997.
  20. After 21 months, my opion has not changed. It's part of the reason I made the move to Dobyns. I can get most everything I want in a cork full rear grip. Honestly, the split grip for spinning is Okay. I ordered my DX742SF in full rear grip. Options are nice.
  21. The Champion 705CB Glass will easily handle the duties you mentioned. This is a composite rod with graphite butt section and glass integrated in the tip section so it is very powerful but forgiving at the same time. The blank diameter is smaller than an all glass rod and significantly lighter. I highly suggest this model.
  22. Sean, We will be thinking of you and praying for you and your family.
  23. The Trion in one of the best entry level spinning reels on the market. I use one on my panfish rod.
  24. Abu Garcia 5000 on a Fenwick Lunker Stick 555, just like Roland Martin. Picked up two Lews BB1 made by Shimano shortly after that. My first Bass Pro Shops catalog had about 16 pages total and Shimano Bantam 100's for 38 bucks. Those were the days. I miss my blue polyester jump suit.
