  1. Very nice. We the aged can share our thoughts on colonoscopies and passing kidney stones. Hey what brand walker do you prefer ? Can you bite your line off with dentures ? How do you change your diaper in an open boat during a tournament ? This should kick start the forum for sure.
  2. Guy Eaker. That fella, at 70 years old amazes me. The first question I would ask is, How have you kept the passion, focus and physical stamina for so long ?
  3. May I suggest you check Gunlaws.com for state by state firearms laws.
  4. Sounds like you need a super smooth reel that permits quick spool starts and a strong smooth drag. The Revo STX has both and with your two other Revos, you have familiarity which is also nice.
  5. Options. What a wonderful thing. If only we could test a rod on line. I'll stay with those copper colored sticks from Woodland WA.
  6. Watermelon pepper. Weightless, texas rigged. A superline hook will help it sink a bit quicker if you need it to.
  7. Hold your arm out. A three looks like an eight.
  8. Look at it this way Josh, Your friend was valued enough by you for you to give him your gem bait so he might experience a little of the success you had with it. Maybe you'll be blessed enough to talk about that day forty five years from now. David and Jonathan were closer than brothers......they probably fished together.
  9. Okuma salmon, sturgeon and saltwater reels are really popular in the Northwest. Their spinning reels are decent. The Serrano LP BC looks like a good reel but it's still not proven. It's hard for a company to displace staple brands and models with a strong following. I fished a friend's VS baitcaster a couple years ago and it was Okay to good.
  10. I guess i'm the norm after reading the other comments. The economy hasn't impacted my income although I took a wage freeze to help the City where i'm employed. Disposable income, like the rest of you has been effected by life issues, wedding to pay for, new granddaughter, helping my other kids and so on. I don't fish often but try and make my trips really count so a two hour drive is not uncommon to get to good locations. I did upgrade quite a few outfits this year but I don't buy stuff out of my wages. No overtime means no new toys. Yesterday was my 37th anniversary so it must work. Go dunk a jig RED and whack a biggun!!!
  11. Any Normans, Speed Traps and Hot Lips. The YoZuri hard core is a sleeper.
  12. Using braid has'nt changed how much I want to spend on a rod. It has changed the type of rod action and or hook set I might use. I use braid for a small portion of my flippin and always when fishing frogs. I prefer fluorocarbon or hybrid for the rest of my fishing. That's just me though. There's a video on Youtube with Bub Tosh on punching and he comments on rod actions when using braid and how he sets the hook. It's worth the time to view it.
  13. Talking about the Kermy frog all. Any opinions ?
  14. Don't put anything made of elastek (spelling) in anything or with anything other than the bag it came in ! Z-Man products do not play well with other baits. Trust me.
  15. Bought another Revo SXHS yesterday for the frog rod. Put a little Power Pro on it. They were on an in-store Promotion for less than a hundred bucks. I love deals !
  16. Has anyone used the BPS hollow body frog ? It's half the price of the " popular " brands, but is the performace and quality comparable ? Thanks.

  18. This is exactly how I feel. I don't know if I have ever used a higher end offering from any of the major brands that I hated. This is a COMPETETIVE industry. I can think of five brands that would or have already served me well. I go back to what I have said over and over again. I want value in what I buy. Avoid the term "best." I recall Burly saying that some time back.
  19. I was never big on paying more than 60 bucks for a spinning reel and felt that price point provided all I would ever need or want. Then I picked up a 3000 Soros. There really is a difference in performance. Now I have a matched pair. I'm surpised you are looking at the 1000. It's pretty small, panfish size. It's also the first Shimano model with the free spool you pay for in the original purchase price.
  20. Thanks all !!!! Baby is home and life is good. I told my wife I have to by my new granddaughter a new Revo Premier and I will sacrifice and break it in for the little doll. I :)hope she reels right handed.
  21. It sounded better than " pickin' and flickin' " which is another popluar fishing technique from?????? I forgot.
  22. It's the make up and the ambient lighting.
  23. With the exception of 4 Curados, the bulk of my older reels are Pflueger and Quantum (PT only) I was never disappointed with either brand and they all worked great. As I had the cash to update I transitioned to another brand you mentioned altogther for casting reels. I've also moved to the higher end Shimano spinning reels. Everything out there has become pretty darn good. Personal preference is more of a driving factor all the time. Always maintain your options and look at everything.
  24. I own two of each. I think the STX performs as well as the Premier but the Premier has some additional subtle features. I'm not convinced the EVA foam pads on the handle is the hot deal. Both cast exceptionally well and the drag on both is tremendous. I will admit, the light weight of the Premier feels amazing during use. I would have not believed it. The advice of putting one of each on a rod and just handling them will be the telling factor.
