  3. Okay all you guys that plan on buying a Ducket or Veritas....you're stuck with having to buy an 08 Okuma VS or an old Pflueger MAXX.
  4. My daughter came in and handed me the neatest gift. She took a fishing photo of me and had it imported onto a Bassmaster magazine cover template. I'm famous in my own mind. She told me she did it on the Walgreen's website in the photo gifts section. Check it out. It's not expensive and makes a great gift ! Love mine.
  5. Clear Lake California. See ya there this April.
  6. Caught my first fish when I was 6 and i'm 56 so, half a century. Spent many a summer in central Oregon fishing for troutskies. Caught my first bass in a borrow pit at age 10 or so. Got away from it during the motocross years but saw the light after a broken back and came back to fishing and haven't turned back. Bass fishing is my mental health therapy. This forum is just a group session.
  7. Pitchin is a technique, a dilvery method for a lure. You can pitch with casting or spinning, 6' to 8' and everything in between. Your 7'8" C-Stick will work just fine. If you have a good reel with a super smooth free spool you are in business. Have fun !
  8. There has to be a reason for the distortion and I would say it get's mighty hot in Arizona. I bet Chris Brown would like to know the circumstances so as to factor that into further product development. That was like a hot dog in a microwave.
  9. Take your photos and publish a calendar.
  10. Joe Thomas or Charlie Hartley. They both love bass fishing, have a true passion for the sport and appear to be down to earth guys.
  11. I am so fortunate my local family owned outlet has taken bass products seriously and done a decent job with the basics. They also special order anything for me and the prices are ALWAYS at or below BPS or TW prices. The buyer, Brad S. is an animal at finding deals on reels.
  12. Iv'e been throwing Yo-mamas for about 6 years. It's the best copy of a Sweet Beaver i've found. They tear a little easier but the cost out weighs that. Try a 5/0 Owner twist lock hook. It should match up well ( for the full size bait )and it has a decent hook to strike ratio. Big Bite makes some other great baits.
  13. What you described would lead me to believe you had someone operating a water craft while under the influence of alcohol and or drugs which is a crime. If you called it in as that, the response for L/E, if there was a marine patrol unit, would be pretty swift I would hope. If no marine unit was working a deputy/ranger/trooper might hope to see the operator arrive at a launch ramp.
  14. Speed Trap Deep Little N Brad's Wiggler
  15. The guy is a good angler and a marketing wiz. The Skeeter man will get about twenty bucks per reel as a royalty. He does not give his name away for free. What's next ? Nike Air Skeeters, raised yellow wall tires, who knows.
  16. Outlaw Baits in Old Ugly and Dry Creek Outfitters' buzzard snot. Any brand in green pumpkin. If I have those colors, i'm set.
  17. I also have three. If you shop you can find them for under a hundred bucks new. I was able to get mine on an in store special for 69.97 each. They are great performers. I would try and wait for Icast to finish up.There might be some hot deals.
  18. What you are buying is really a magazine subscription with an organization affiliation. But beware, YOUR INFORMATION WILL BE SOLD to anyone who wants to solicit you, a fisherman, to buy their product or services. That pretty much goes for any similar organization. The Bass West is a really good publication. FLW also has a good publication. They all have information to help your knowedge grow.
  19. When ever we see bald eagles flying the fishing will be good. When the weasels are out and about the fishing stinks. Maybe I should throw my bananas at the weasels.
  20. I had the opportunity early this year to see some blanks manufactured for an entrepreneur rod builder. The blanks were yellow and lime green and were supposed to be marketed as " Lemon Lime " rods. Has anyone seen these on the market ? The color scheme didn't look like the Citrus Sticks.
  21. I always try to learn something on every trip. I also like to apply something I have learned and if it helps me figure the fish out that is icing on the cake. Helping someone learn and or enjoy an outing is the absolute best.
  22. My local tackle shop had a parking lot sale with Reaction Strike HB swimbaits for $1.97 a pkg. so I am set for quite a while.
  23. I try to limit my purchases to major holidays like, Christmas, my birthday, fathers day, George Washington's birthday, Boxer Day, 4th of July, Canada Day, Victoria Day, Administrative Professionals Day, the release date of Avatar on DVD, and so on. I can't handle frivolous impulse buying.
