Rod and Reels: Cabela's Vs BPS
Just wondering who has the better House brand rods and reels, as y'all know Cabela's currently has $20 off $100 orders but BPS has the Extreme rod and reels for $100, just from the specs the BPS rods seem better but the Cabelas reels are better specd for the price. is there really a difference? are they the same just different label? chime in and help me spend my money wisely...lol it either Cabela's below http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/templates/product/standard-item.jsp?_DARGS=/cabelas/en/common/catalog/item-link.jsp_A&_DAV=MainCatcat20166-cat20285&id=0064467124298a&navCount=33&podId=0064467&parentId=cat20285&masterpathid=&navAction=push&catalogCode=9IS&rid=&parentType=index&indexId=cat601233&hasJS=true or BPS below http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_10151_-1_10001_103927_100003001_100000000_100003000_100-3-1

i need a cheap but good allarounder baitcasting set up
well im mostly a T-rig guy thats my go to riht for pretty much any appilcation and the kind of fishing i do, i already have a medium spinning set up that i use for worming, i want the all around baitcaster to venture into other techniques but basically it still needs to be a good worming rod just i case i decide to leave the spinner at home and just walk around with one rod

i need a cheap but good allarounder baitcasting set up
what about the pinnacle reels are they any good? it seems i should just go ahead and get a good rood with a decent reel and upgrade the reel once it fails. so im definetely looking at the xps extreme they have on sale since i have a 6'6" medium spinning combo im thinking about getting a 7' MH fast combo, would this be a wood all arounder set up? also im not sure what gearing would be best for me, im am a noob.....lol... im thinking the 6.4 might be good or should i stick to the standard 5.4 or maybe get the faster 7.1?

i need a cheap but good allarounder baitcasting set up
since i hear some people complaining about the reels in the extreme rods there have a combo of a daiwa megaforce reel with the bps bionic blade combo, for only $10 more and im considering that combo, how are the bps bioninc blades? so far what is catching my eye is this http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_10151_-1_10001_98851_100003001_100000000_100003000_100-3-1 or the bps extreme combo

I want to venture into the baitcasting rod and reels, id like something cheap under $100. i already have a 6'6" medium spinning rod and reel, since i already have this set up what are good techniques that are optimal for that set up and then id like recomendations on the baitcasting set up to go from where the spinning set up ends

good size worm for medium action spinning rod and #8 line
well the pond in my backyard is not fished, i very rarely see someone there and im assuming that there are not that many lunkers in there, the one across the street from me see more activity but still we are talking maybe a few locals a few times a month, the ponds here dont get stocked, so im considering doing some stocking of my own with smaller fish from the lake my buddy lives in. so far i get the most action with chartreusse swirly tail worms from wall-mart the one that are $2 for 24 the fish like them i also get good bites with black worms with a hot pink swirly tail again the cheap wal-mart brand

good size worm for medium action spinning rod and #8 line
just wondering what size worm you would recomend for this set up also what colors you like most. im asking cause i've loaded the line with some big worms and it seems that its less productive than using smaller worms. but i allways seem to get small fish and im not sure if a igger worm would attrackt lunkers

Hey guys, new here and not very savy of fishing gear with a few questions
well the water i tend to fish are not rocky, but it is weedy, with a lot of cat tail, and lilypads, the ponds dont really have much structure and i have to rely pn point to find fish or overhanging trees

What to get son in law (Christmas ???)?
id have to agree with the peoepl tha say just get him a run of the mill combo, i just recently got into bass fishing and i ended up getting a shakespearen agility combo, it was the best specd spinning combo i could get for the price, and i think for under $40 it will be a great set up to learn on. that being said my dad still fishes an Ugly stick that he had from before i was born that thing is 27+ years old and is still his go to rod for ANY freshwater fishing. when i was buying my combo, i looked at the cabelas website a lot and they have some nicely priced entry level combos that featured their house brand rods, i dont know how good those rods and reels are but the specs seem very good for the price range. id still recomend the ugly stick combo just cause you dont know what he'll be fishing for in the long run and ive seen my dad ugly stick fished for anything from freshwater trout, bass and catfish, to salt water red snapper, crockers, grouper and we even pulled in a sting ray when i was a kid. my dad currently uses it for red drum fishing in lousiana.

Hey guys, new here and not very savy of fishing gear with a few questions
HI, im a newb when it comes to freshwater fishing, i have lots of experience fishin saltwater with hand reels and heavy nylon mono line for basically muscling the fish in the boat, but i have recently discoverd fishing for bass with lures and worms. I just recently got an Amazon.com gift certificate for Christmas and having a large pond right behing my house an a fairly large man made lake in front, and a buddy woth a boat on lake magdalen Fl, i decided to buy a freshwater rod to start out with. i got the best rod i could get for the money i had, which just hapenned to be a Shakespeare agility spinning combo, to me it seemed the best specd rod in my price range : 6foot6inch medium action IM-6 2 pc rod, with an agility 7bb reel with one anti reverse roller bearing. the rod has ss line guides. so while im waiting for it to get delivered, i've been doing some research on tackle, and im interested in maybe spooling with braid for the first time, my buddy with the boat spools his spinning reels with some kind of braid and i like the things ive been reading about the strength to diameter ratio as i seem to get more strickes when i use thin line with the lures. but im undecided cause i read that braid doesnt work very well with spinning setups, and that braid can cut into the line guides in the rod, now i know that the rod & reels combo i got are not the best, but id like for it to last a good amount of time until i learn to use it properly and can justify my skill having increased to get an awesome set up. from what i've read fused line seems to be a good compromise for spinning set ups, and im specialy interested in the spiderwire stealth line cause it says is teflon coated and wont cut into the guides and that its rounder so it shouldnt tangle as much. i will be using my rod quite a bit considering i pretty much allways have acces to water and lots of free time to fish. what kind of line would you recomcend?
