  1. It's a fish on my bucket list. Would like to catch the big'uns on the Amazon. But if not...Florida will do nicely
  2. Some really nice bass there, and a Peacock, too!
  3. Great day, Kevin! You're right, fun is where it's at. Big is always a plus to any day on the water, but just catching them of any size beats a skunk any day of the week!

Apparently GYCB Senkos are buy one get one 50% off, as well. Or that might've been last week. There were no sales signs when I went last week, buddy went on Saturday, still no signs, but when he checked out they rang up that way.... Good deal at about $6.43 per bag.
  5. Perpendicular is best in my experience.
  6. I'll go so far as to say there is *almost* no wrong way to fish a senko. Almost
  7. Welcome aboard! That will work. But if you have anyone near you that works with aluminum, see if you can buy a 2" square at what ever length you need. I mounted a 55# thrust trolling motor to my old aluminum Grumman this way and it was very stable, but light.

I've thrown a jika rig a few times, had moderate success. Not a rig I throw *often*....

    Welcome aboard!
  10. As far as baitcasters, I'm down to two in use, my Shimano Chronarch 50e (sold my other one), and a Diawa Lexa (used by one of my boys). If I were to buy again, it would probably be another Shimano, but the new, smaller Tatulas look great. As far as spinning reels? Shimano. Tho we have one Lexa, used by same son who has the Lexa casting reel. So I'm loyal to Shimano as far as they have been the reels I've liked most in terms of how they felt in my hands when testing them out. They just felt right to me, so I stuck with them and have not been let down.
  11. I might have to experiment with the safety pin thing, although I'm certain the resulting size would mean my current hook box would no longer work. But I must experiment. I love DIY hacks like this. Thanks for sharing!
  12. Awesome trip, Jeff. Same hidden, super-secret place you mentioned last time?
  13. Welcome back!
  14. Welcome aboard, Bryant!
  15. Very nice bass! Congrats! My first bass on a jig was over 3 pounds, I weighed it, but don't remember specifically. Just that it was an incredible experience
  16. Heck if I know what it is. Just couldn't resist.
  17. I'd throw a 4" senko
  18. Congrats on the healthy chunk!
  19. Definitely not a pickerel. Plenty of those around here and I've caught them all sizes. That ain't it.
  20. Don't live up that way anymore (used to live between Batavia and Rochester)... So I'll just welcome you aboard!
  21. Welcome aboard, Booker!
  22. Nice catch, Hootie!
  23. I was actually going to shoot for 3.5 - 4. I've caught quite a few chunks like that that didn't go much over 4. But hey, w/o a scale, we'll never know! <hint at what your next purchase should be>
