  1. Only that I had one once in our fish tank. It grew to 24" before I traded it in to a fish shop for some other fish...
  2. Welcome aboard, Steve!
  3. I don't. I pretty much use an Albright mod/Alberto with my braided mainline (10#PP and 15#PPSS8). My leaders are anywhere from 4# to 15# test. Uni-to-Uni as well, if I'm fussing trying to tie the other in a heavy wind. Haven't noticed any issues at all.
  4. If you are comfy with braid, stick with it and use FC as a leader. I can't imagine a single situation for me that I'd go back to non-braid mainline. I use it on every reel I use, and always with a leader. To each his/her own....my choice is PP and PPSS8
  5. Welcome back, Richard!
  6. Welcome aboard!
  7. No info for ya, just a welcome to the forums!
  8. I agree with this. It's an economics thing. Just prefer MLF format myself.
  9. If I could take my dog(s) out on my kayak, I would. Priceless pic.
  10. Hi Rick, welcome aboard, and thanks for your service!
  11. I've arranged my non-weedguard hooks with the pins and they fit fine in my small hook box. Only have one setup with about 8 weedguarded hooks the rest are in the dozens and simply don't work with the pins. Otherwise, a fantastic idea. Kudos for bringing it up!
  12. Feel your pain. Have had some lunkers spit the hook in my face and dance back to the depths... happens more often than we'd like.
  13. The pins are awesome with hook sans weedguard! Hooks with a weedguard...not so much...my weekend experience, LOL. Still. Great idea for non-weedguard hooks.
  14. Hi Frank, welcome aboard!
  15. Welcome aboard! Yeah, some of those shows are on private ponds that see no public pressure. Tis the nature of the beast.
  16. That's a beauty, T-Rick! Congrats! I've considered a replica of my PB, in the range of yours, right at 7.5#, but when I looked at costs I decided against it. Now I'm hoping to best it and will probably save up to mount that one. I know Bass Pro does mounting, but I'm willing to bet there are better, less expensive options out there. @WRB has had some mounted - the one in his avatar is an absolute beast. Maybe he will offer suggestions.
  17. Hi Shane, welcome aboard!
  18. You are correct, but technically, it's in the gill area. And a feisty fish may not be easily "hooked" in that spot. As well, sometimes it takes multiple efforts to hook the bass properly for the weight. Maybe it's just me whose had those hooks not cooperate when I'm trying to weigh an angry sow
  19. My eldest son and I still haven't finished season 4... Oi. Wife and son #2 finished 5.
  20. Boga user here. They're darn accurate and so much better than the gill hooks. I've lost two digi-scales to Davey Jones' Locker, both with the hooks. Miss the second one I lost, but love my Boga. Only thing I miss is the digital precision. But my 15lb Boga is good to the 1/4 pound, so if the fish is just over the 3 1/4 mark, I'll say it was a hair over 3 1/4 pounds... I still have an eye on digital scales, and will probably pull the trigger on another one in the future.
  21. I imagine if the Elite switched to an MLF type tourney, this would be no issue as all fish are caught, weighed, released at the boat. Personally, I enjoy that format much more over the other events...
  22. Welcome aboard!
  23. Hey! Big-O! Been wondering where your photoshopped pictures have been Nice to see you haven't let up on the old gals. Sure is a lunker.
  24. Fantastic!
