Adios, señor.

Bubblegum?
Mine are also put away. Thought they'd buy me lots of hits, but nada. Think I caught one fish on merthiolate. I've got friends who swear by the colors and have pix of bass they've caught on the same waters I fish. Me? Wasn't worth the effort to fish 'em. Of course I'll try again some time. I always try "old stuff" to see if they'll work this time....

Which rods to invest in?
Another St. Croix vote here. But I have fallen for their Legend Tournament series. Gosh they are soooo crisp. I used their upgrade service when I sent my Avid in for replacement. If I had $250, I'd get another one.

BPS Titanium 8 Combo
I read about some tip-breakage as well, an employee told me (this was a while back) that it may have been a bad batch of rods. I've got two white CLs and they've been excellent. Caught a lot of good sized bass on them with no issues at all.

2 baits, 2 chunks, 2 cool
Very nice, mate! Well done!

Flukes
Yep. The tiny ones from Zoom. I believe they're 3" long.... Use them on a mojo rig, and even wacky rigs.
-
Flukes
I mostly use the Tiny Flukes, favorite color is Watermelon Red.

Please Help save our trip
Lou, have you tried throwing a wacky rig? Either weighted or weightless with a 4 or 5" Senko (or knock off) in natural colors like Green Pumpkin, watermelon, black, etc.? Throw near structure, dock pylons, etc., and let it sink. Patience is a virtue with this rig

Oh No! Mr. Bill
AAAaaand they have a mute button for press conferences! Tap tap tap... is this thing on?

Oh No! Mr. Bill
Completion percentage likely highest in the league for a former starter. On the bright side, he's apparently humbler now than before. So perhaps riding a Bronco uniform would do him some good.

Oh No! Mr. Bill
His play consisted of holding a clipboard while wearing a red shirt without shoulder pads.... Not good, indeed.

pressured pond
I'm all about wacky rigging, and downsizing on pressured ponds. Good on ya for trying it and getting some confidence back! And welcome to the forums!

New to the kayak bassin scene
My personal take on this is different than the others in that I bought a kayak after a long time with a canoe, and loved the kayak...except for the things I missed with the canoe, like a dry interior, though scupper holes are indeed a great reason to get a kayak...among other reasons... So when I set out to upgrade my kayak I decided to look at hybrids like the Wilderness Systems Commander and the Native Watercraft Ultimate series. They're "like" a canoe, but also built like, and lower to the water like a kayak. I bought the Native Ultimate 12 because I liked it better than the WS Commander - though that's a fine yak. The argument of WS vs Native is similar to Shimano vs. Daiwa, and so on. I picked the one that "fit ME" better. The U12 is unbelievably customizable, and I've even outfitted mine with a trolling motor I control with a box next to my left hand, and steer with my foot pedals. A truly awesome fishing machine it is. And stable. I could stand all day if I had to. My .02

Oh No! Mr. Bill
Head scratcher to me. But bigger guaranteed $$ than Broncos, probably. Hey, $72 million over 4 years ain't bad. But wow. RGIII to Denver? Adam Schefter says he's probably visiting soon.

BPS Titanium 8 Combo
No, but I will speak for BPS rod quality - specifically the Carbonlite series, which I really like. I know Edwin Evers fished the new Titanium reel on a CL rod for the 2016 Classic he won. Anyhow, BPS rods are a good quality, I'd have no problem recommending. And the reel is new, so probably not a lot have fished it yet....

Does line make the difference?
Agree with @A-Jay and others. If it's a workin' why change it?! Pray tell this magical clear line you use!! Me, it's yellow braid and a leader. Every combo I've got. Tis the way I fish and catch many 5 and 6 pounders. Perhaps I've got the wrong line!
