    Hi Jim, welcome aboard!
  7. Welcome aboard!
  8. I had that very paddle...and it flew off the back of my truck one day Haven't bought another one, but it was very helpful in certain circumstances. I found it useful. But not so much so that I would buy another yet.
  9. I second Hanover's comment. My first kayak was a Pelican SOT that I picked up for $299 at BJ's Wholesale. Served me well for a while, came with rod holders, car top cushions and straps, plus a paddle (h.e.a.v.y.). That kayak helped me determine how I wanted to fish from a kayak and led me to my current yak. I had to upgrade the paddle as the cheap one that came with it tired me out after mere minutes....
  10. Dang! Sweet bass, Speed!
  11. Welcome aboard, Jake! Definitely consider giving it braid a try at some point. But if your setup is working, stick with it. I use braid on all my spinning and casting setups and I always use a leader. Braid just manages so much better than straight mono, fluoro, etc. Just my .02
  12. I tie 10 lb Power Pro to 15 lb line often, no failures. Like it's been said, test the knot after tying several times before throwing your bait. If you need to, drop a dab of superglue on the knot.

  19. Fantastic stuff, man! We'll be at OBX in August for a short family trip. Not sure we'll get much fishing in, though.
