Someone Stole All My Fishing Gear
Wow. Man that stinks. Hope the police have success in tracking down your gear, or at least bringing the perps to justice, while your insurance takes care of you.

Pflueger President Spinning Reel
Have a gander at the search function, there are a LOT of Pflueger Pfans on the site For me, I strongly considered Pflueger President and other models, but with side-by-side comparisons, Shimano reels just felt better to *ME*. I wouldn't take anyone's positive experience with Pflueger for granted. That was just how I responded. They're great reels from everything I've read.

Kayak Anchor Trolley Question
For me I used screws because I've got access to the nuts due to my hull design. And mine was a kit I bought at Appomattox River Company. I wouldn't feel trepidatious using rivets, though. The right rivets for kayaks, will work fine. I doubt you'll put enough stress on 'em to pull them out.

New User. Where Do You Guys Fish?
Welcome aboard! Reservoirs down here in SE Virginia. I'm pretty much a soft plastics guy, mostly wacky rigged, though I do fish plenty of other techniques. Just not as often I fish what works.

Bait Casters?
Heh, there is a LOT of advice in this thread. Tough part will be finding what works for YOU. I started with cheaper baitcasters. Man was that a tough start. Seriously. The first bc I could cast easily with minimal backlash was my Daiwa Lexa 100 (7:1 ratio). I'm passing that on to one of my sons now since I live on my two Chronarch 50e reels now. If you can afford it, pay for quality. Many of us are Shimano guys, or Daiwa guys, or Lews guys. You can take from that that we each have found reels that work for US. You may find a $50 reel that works great! I couldn't. That's my story. Write your own by getting your hands on as many reels in-store as you can.
