iPhone 5 is an excellent smartphone. Add to it a nice waterproof case like a Lifeproof nuud or fre and you'll be safe. There are other, good waterproof cases though, just mentioning the Lifeproof since I own one. I have much invested in the Apple platform as for games and apps, the platform of which, in my experience really does work best (used to be an Android user). So I have not switched back to Android, although I've eyed the larger screen phones. But I'll wait for Apple to release a large-screen iPhone later this year (hopefully). The iPhone 5 series (and 4) are perfect for single hand operation. But if you have hands the size of LeBron James, then you should be able to operate the massive Galaxy Note with one hand. To each his/her own.

I've used both, and hands-down prefer P-Line Floroclear's handling and otherwise, solid performance. But take this into consideration, I only use the lines for leader material tied to a braid mainline. I didn't like the way any mono or copoly behaved as a mainline, hence switching to braid for both spinning and bait casting. Thus, line behaves differently as a leader - there is only a small amount tied on.... I'm not saying Red Label is a bad line, it is just that I like Floroclear better. And for pure fluorocarbon, I now use XPS brand.

Bass Pro branded yaks are pretty decent for the money. Complaints have been that they're a thinner pour, hence denting and such. I considered one when I was in the market -- before I bought my Native Ultimate 12. And definitely try to sit in the yak (in-store) if you can't get it on the water to demo it. That said, the recent models are much thicker based on my hands-on, and better. That paid a big part in me choosing the U12 over the Native Commander (darn fine boat, tho), and other models. And if I were in the buying market today, I'd also take a long hard look at a Native Slayer, and anything Hobie (once I win the lottery). But as for the BPS models, 12' is great. I started with a 10, and it was awesome. I bought the U12 as there wasn't a shorter model, and I've not been disappointed whatsoever. Obviously the 10 will be lighter, and will be easier to maneuver. And for fishing, it is my opinion that a sit on top is the way to go. For me, a hybrid (like my Native Ultimate) was the way to go, but that's not for everyone.

I would be fine, IMO. There are positives to using pure FC, but it is not absolutely 100% necessary... Plenty of folks use YZH for everything.

FWIW, did a quick Google of the site and it looks like a little "gem" of a small lake. http://www.pierandsurf.com/fishing-forum/showthread.php?61170-Oak-Grove-lake-park-3-8 Though from 2009, still sounds like a potentially great fishery. I'd say visit and see what diamonds lay beneath the waves!

No idea, sorry to say. I only fish the Peninsula side of Hampton Roads. Lots of folks here who fish the South Side who could, possibly, give you some insight to that body of water.

Hey, it's all good. Wear it if you want to. I'm another guy who wears stuff based not on sponsorship, but on utility. Hence wearing sun-blocking shirts with plenty of ventilation (in the warmer months)... If that shirt happens to have a Shimano, Columbia, Bass Pro, Daiwa, etc., logo on it, then so be it. My hats are usually Adidas, St. Croix, or XPS.... 6 and 1 half dozen the other.

I use it for leader material only, but it is always in competition with P-Line Floroclear, and I've added pure fluoro to the mix. I will use them interchangeably. I am not certain pure FC is necessary over the copoly lines. Different strokes for different folks. YZH is inexpensive and good quality line.

Read up on stuff, test stuff out. But I always end up falling back to things that work for me in general. When I try something "new", I'll try to use that lure/method only during an outing... My mindset is always to get better at what I do, although sometimes frustration sets in and things go south until I can get my head straight. Just an honest 2 cents.
