Need help fishing worms in the weeds
I fish a spot where the weeds are really thick. You can see holes in the weeds, but if I throw a worm in there, it goes down two feet and sits on the weeds. I put what was to me was HUGE sinker on and it was still getting stuck in the weeds. Should I just put as big a sinker as is needed to get down to the bottom? It feels odd to bass fish with a 3 oz sinker. What do you guys think? p.s I'm from shore.

Fishing in Saltwater
One more questions. Is braid good to use in saltwater? I use braid on my spinning/baitcaster for freshwater, and I have no desire to use mono just because I'm in saltwater. Any thoughts?

Fishing in Saltwater
I have an Abu Garcia Ambassadeur. I was just wondering if it would be ok to fish saltwater with it? It should be fine if I rinse it off really well when I'm done fishing right? Please feel free to correct me! Thanks

Question
I'm in MD, and either I'm not that good at fishing, or 5 lb'ers aren't that common. When I catch one, I go nuts.

My Spro Frog got crushed
I would agree, except that I saw him jump. Also, we caught about 20 of them in a few hours, and zero pike. @Franco: Yeah, it's ripped right at the tie on spot.

My Spro Frog got crushed
Big bass. Hardest strike I've ever had.

My Spro Frog got crushed
I was in upstate NY (Loon Lake), and was fishing some HEAVY pads. I didn't even know pads would get this thick...anyway, a big fish crushed my frog, and ripped a hole in it by the eye. I was just wondering if using some super glue is a good thing to do. Any thoughts? p.s That frog is out of this world. I'm buying two more tonight.

Beaver impact
I love beavers. They have been especially active lately where I fish most of the time. All they do is create bass habitat. I wish I could catch them and shake their little paws and tell them thank you.

Maryland's Who's who!
I was at Harpers Ferry this past Tuesday. Water is pretty low, and quite warm. I got skunked...didn't know that was possible on that river!

What do you consider a successful day when fishing?
It depends on the day. Sometimes I'll go and catch 8 fish in an hour, and that's awesome. Some days, I'll go, catch nothing at all, and it's still a great time.

Shakey Head + Trick worm = ?
I'm thinking I could throw it just T-rigged weightless? Does that work? I've never fished a trick worm before (Senko/weighted power worms).

Shakey Head + Trick worm = ?
Not really sure what to do with this lure...I threw it out today, but the jig head kept getting caught in the weeds. Is this a good thing to throw into the grass, or do I need open water? Do I let it sit, or jig it along the bottom? Thanks guys!!

Why am I gut hooking so many fish?
Very simple solution. Pay attention, and set the hook when you feel something. Swings are free.

Shore fishing =/= boat fishing
I got a kayak this past winter, and boy is fishing in it WAY different from fishing from shore. I'm so used to seeing things a certain way, or seeing things in general, and it's all different in the boat. It does'nt help that I look at my sonar and can't read it well... Any tips for getting acclimated to a boat? Fishing deep ( >15') is something I'm not used to at all. Thanks!

Maryland's Who's who!
I am thinking about hitting the Potomac tomorrow; I'll be going near the Bridge at Harpers Ferry. Anyone been around there lately? Last time I was there, it was VERY high and VERY stained.

Fishing Shoes
My wife is a nurse, and is standing all day. She, and an unbelievable amount of health care professionals, wear a shoe by a company called Dansko. Not fishing shoes at all, but amazingly comfortable. They're clogs, and Doctors/Nurses swear by them.

Top two definitely look like Bombers.

What's the difference between a $50 rod, and a $150 rod?
The most I've ever spent on a rod is $50 bucks. I have a Daiwa Regal XiA spinning reel, and a BPS PQ. Both have $50 BPS Tourney Special rods on them. I'm just wondering what I might be missing with a real deal rod. Thanks guys!

Does anybody else find themselves throwing soft plastics more often than hardbaits?
I throw soft stuff WAY more than hard. I throw buzz baits quite a bit, but otherwise, it's almost all soft stuff.

tap tap wiffffffff - missed fish on soft plastics
If the line is moving, a fish is attempting to swallow your lure. I do the same thing a previous responder said; after a tap or two, I just life the rod and look for weight on the line. If there is, I attempt to dislocate Miss Bass's jaw.

I finally broke down and bought a Spro Frog
I didn't want to because they're pretty pricey (9$ is a lot for a lure to me). I finally bought one, but I'm not so sure what to do with it. Should I just twitch it in, or does anything go with it?

How to fish a buzzbait?
Seeing this topic recently made me get my dusty buzzbait out. Boy am I glad I did. Throw it everywhere, and all the time. I've been slaying the bass on my black buzzbait.

What to use here?
I would throw a tube, and then next, I'd throw another tube.

New to braid; need some help
I've wanted to try braid for a while now, and Dicks had some PP on sale, so I'm taking the plunge. My questions are as follows. 1. Should I use a backer? 2. If I should, should it be heavy? 3. Should I use a leader? Thanks guys!

Have you ever caught a bass with someone else lure in it's mouth?
I caught a bass just the other day with a worm and hook sticking out of his throat. I removed both of them, and sent him on his way.
