Chatterbaits?
They absolutely have a spot in mine. My favorite is a Booyah Boogie bait in black/blue. I like them so much because they can be fished however you want to fish them. Slow roll them on the bottom, burn them over top of grass, bounce them off cover, whatever. The best part is, they catch fish! I would never go to the lake without one.

boat registration
In Ohio, registration is valid for 3 years. If the boat still has a valid registration all you have to do is transfer the registration to you. This can only be done, however, after you have transferred the titles for the boat and outboard. All you will need to pay is a transfer fee for the registration instead of a new/renewal fee. I think it's only $5 to transfer and around $50 to renew. So to answer your question, the registration will not start over when you transfer. It will stay valid until 2012, and at that time you will have to renew.

Show your ride...
Here is my 'new' ride I picked up this past weekend. 1995 Champion 186 w/150 HP Mariner. VERY clean boat for its age and I can't wait to get it on the water!

Spring and Summer shoes
Thong style sandals, and if it gets really hot those things absolutely have to come off.

Braid, does color matter ??????????????
I really believe that color does matter a lot, at least on the lake I fish. I was always a fan of the plain old green braid, but recently started using PowerPro and tried out their red line. My catch rate went way up with the red braid compared to the green Suffix I was using. I flipped and pitched the same baits on the same spots and the red braid just seemed to not bother the fish as much. I can't really explain it, maybe it was just a coincidence, but I now have a lot more confidence in that red PowerPro and will continue using it over any green braid.

After a year and a half wait, Frogzilla is complete.
Awesome rod! And awesome stash of booze in the background!

matching a rod to a revo s
Vendetta would be my first choice. They are constructed to balance with the Revo reel lineup. However, the Falcon Bucoo would also be a good one.

Revenge Bluegill Pattern Lures
I really like Revenge spinnerbaits. I almost exclusively fish the white Revenge spinnerbait and it has held up through many, many fish. I don't have any of the bluegill color, but recently purchased some Strike King swimming jigs in bluegill color that I plan on using. Revenge makes some quality baits for sure, and I would bet their jigs would be just as good as their spinnerbaits.

Want to buy new boat, what should I look for?
Thanks for all the replies, guys! It will all come in very handy. I've already contacted the seller and hoping to get a few more pics of the boat...some closeups of the lower unit/prop, trolling motor, trailer, and instrumentation. I also have a contact at the Gander Mountain near the area this boat is selling, so hopefully he can hook me up with a good mechanic to look the boat over.

Want to buy new boat, what should I look for?
I guess I should have mentioned I'm looking for a new USED boat. Sorry that would have made things a little easier from the get go. This is one I am looking at closely. I have a neighbor who has a Cajun boat and he says he loves it. Anyone have experience with this brand? Is 135 HP underpowered on an 18 footer? Thanks guys... http://dayton.craigslist.org/boa/1557061254.html

Want to buy new boat, what should I look for?
Hey, I am in the market for a new bass boat. Since it will be my first one, I'm wondering what kind of things I should be looking for and asking about? I have to admit I'm kind of nervous about making a decision, especially since the waters in this area (Ohio) are more than likely frozen and I won't be able to take a prospect out on the water to test it.

Winter Pond Fishing
I would focus on the deeper water first, then the weedbed. If you have any jerkbaits I would start off with them. I had my best cold weather outing at a farm pond fishing a Lucky Craft Pointer in Chartreuse Shad. If you don't have any jerkbaits, then definitely work those jigs and soft plastics around the weedbed. As always, you'll just need to experiment until you find something that works. Keep changing things up and let the fish tell you what they want.

Serious football question
It probably has more to do with the left side of the offensive line being the strong side than anything else. Still, you figure you'd run to the other side just to change it up every once in a while.

Spinnerbaits for Muddy Water
I don't fish muddy water too much, but have heard that another successful spinnerbait modification is the colored blades. Is this true or a misconception? If it's true I would think that some big painted colorado blades would work well in the muddy conditions.

Bass Fishing on TV???
Beat Charlie Moore is the dumbest "fishing" (if you can call it that) show I've ever seen. I am completely beside myself that it is even still broadcast on TV. The guy doesn't know anything about fishing, he just rants about Boston and New England and everything but fishing. What a waste of 30 minutes.

Lucky Craft
My honest opinion of LC is they're the best baits on the market, especially the Pointer and Sammy. Maybe it's just because I have so much confidence when I fish these baits, I might be biased here. The finish is unbelievable, but like most have already said, you are paying high dollar for their action in the water. Now I'm not saying the LC is the end all, be all of hard baits. I own plenty of Bomber, Bandit, and Strike King hard baits and they all catch fish. But for certain applications, for me its jerkbait and topwater, I'll always go with a LC.

5 lures you would carry
1. Texas rigged 7" Berkley Power Worm, Red Shad 2. Ind/Col 3/8 oz. Revenge spinnerbait, White 3. Lucky Craft S.K.T. Mini MR, Original Tennessee Shad 4. 1/2 oz. watermelon candy Thunderstruck jig with green pumpkin Paca Chunk trailer 5. Lucky Craft Sammy 100, American Shad I have to add a sixth just because it's probably my all around favorite lure to fish...Lucky Craft Pointer 100 in Chartreuse Shad.

Looking for a specific rod
I have to agree with RW on this. I haven't had a chance to use my Vendettas yet but they have been getting very good reviews so far. The other rods you might consider are the Skeet Tessera rods. Both are under your c-note price point! I have a ML spinning rod that feels very, very good to me. I would think you could get away with the ML-M range rod for tossing those light crankbaits around shoreline cover.

Skirted Bullet Weights
The Paycheck punch skirts are what I would recommend. They are very well made and are really extremely versatile. I believe Tackle Warehouse sells them in a variety of colors. http://www.***.com/descpagePAYSK-PBPS.html

Copolymer line
I personally like the P-Line products. I use the CX Premium line for a lot of different applications. It holds up well and is a very good main line.

TackleWarehouse
I second that, I've had nothing but good/perfect experiences when ordering from their site. Let us know how that Vendetta rod works out. I bought 2 from TW, 1 spinning and 1 casting, a couple of weeks ago and can't wait to use them this spring.

Best non-exspenisive baitcast
I agree with nova77x, the Daiwa Capricorn XTC reels are an amazing deal. They are often forgot about, but I've had one of these reels for a long time and never had a single problem with it. They are not the lightest reel around, but for the price they are great. Lube and grease a couple times a year and they will last forever.

How many of you buy a new rod directly from a catalog/website
JimmyMo, have you had a chance to use the new Tessera flippin stick yet? I've been thinking about getting one of those as well and am curious as to how they perform. If you've used it, start up a new thread and let us know how it works?

Why is the reel handle on the right hand side?
I'm one of the few lucky ones it seems . I am naturally left handed, but my strong arm is my right. So I am able to cast with my strong arm and reel with my left, without any switching hands. I have noticed a huge difference in performance this adds when flipping/pitching. As soon as that bait hits the water I am ready for a strike! I guess there are advantages of being an odd ball... ;D

How many of you buy a new rod directly from a catalog/website
I do a lot of online ordering from Tackle Warehouse and BPS. For the most part, if a product has a good rating and a trusted name, I don't see the problem in not being able to test out the feel. I have also been happy with most of my orders for the most part, and haven't had to deal with broken rods/defected reels or anything like that. Plus, I can get that excited "Christmas" feeling when I see a package sitting on my doorstep!
