  1. 7' 2" m/f Cumara with Aldebaran Mg...... 9 oz combo
  2. I use a Powell 683c paired with a Metanium Mg (JDM Core) very lightweight and it works great for Senko's, flukes, weightless lizards and worms.
  3. I've only had a Loomis IMX, but that's been years ago but I do have a 6' 8" M/H fast Cumara with a Metanium Mg7 on it and a 7' 2" M fast Cumara with an Aldebaran Mg on it and They are my favorite rods to fish with and have had those rods bout 4 yrs now without an issue whatsoever,I wrap the foam grip(they are slippery to me) with rescue tape and love em! Flash, did you get your Core 101 yet? Pics w/ new handle?
  4. 15# Seguar Red label or 30# power pro
  5. Yep and you nailed it with " slot head retainer nut"... lol
  6. I was just mentioning the Core's since that is what this thread is about...Yeah the Calcutta 100/200,Curado B, Chronarch A is right hand thread but the Core 50/100,Chronarch D series,Chronarch 50 Mg,2007 Metanium Mg's,Aldebaran Mg, are all left hand threads,I own them all and have removed knobs to clean and lube.
  7. Just noticed you are a lefty so they may be the same,I've got righty cores and they are lefthand threads.
  8. Just in case you didn't know, the nuts that hold the knobs on the handle shafts are left handed threads, so the lefty loosey righty tighty doesn't come into play on this,It'll be righty loosey....cheeers!
  9. Been using a uni-knot for fluoro.mono and braid for years now and never had it fail me and you can tie this knot in the dark.
  10. Seaguar Red Label to me,is as good as invisx..been using it 4-5 yrs now..It's good line and somewhat manageable
  11. I use a 7' Kistler Graphite plus (crankbait special) and are reasonably priced if you can find one, don't think they're made anymore.
  12. I use 17# Vicious furocarbon (tough stuff!!!) for flipping and Seaguar Red Label for more manageable applications, never had any issues with either.Vicious can be found @ Walmart now.
  13. 17# Vicious for flipping,It's tough stuff!!! Seaguar Red Label for more manageable fluorocarbon.
  14. Had the same thing happen to my 200B and just pulled the one pin out, wasn't using but 3 brakes anyway,as for the scoring of the brake case, shouldn't hurt a thing cause as you know, the brakes are plastic. It worked for me !
  15. All my reels are Shimano and all have magnesium frames except for a D7 that I just purchased but it has the same design and feel of my Core 100 and 2007 Metanium Mg's with just a little added weight cause of the aluminium frame...I do use some different brand rods(cumara, powell.cstix, veritas, kistler) but have to be lightweight to accomidate my lightweight reels..I fell like when I'm using a 12-13oz combo w/12-15# flurocarbon line,I can detect bites that I wouldn't have felt on a heavier combo and no fatigue from fishing all day. I do still have some old B series Curado's and A series Chronarch on old All-Star rods but they don't get used very much.
  16. E7 all the way!!! I only fish Shimano's though is the reason for my opinion, never fished a Zillion...
  17. I would go with a Cumara (cuc68mh)paired with a Core 100 is what I use..The new Chronarch's ought to pair well with one ..don't know anything about the Duckett's
  18. Those rods have almost no grip to them, short and thin, it's about like holding the blank..Wrap the handle with rescue tape to build it up and add a gripping texture to it. That's what I had to do with mine, wouldn't even fish with it the way it was but it's fine now.
  19. I just talked with a guy and he said that he has done 22 of em with no issues, something is definately not kosher here,he said that he used..Boca Ceramic Shielded ABEC5 SMR95C-YZZ #5 LD..I'm gonna break down my E7 and see if the bearing that I got from Shimano is the same size...It's gotta be the wrong bearing!
  20. I believe that they must've sent me the wrong bearing cause the 5x9x3 is just too thick and will not flush mount, I can't see where I could have did something wrong because when I first installed it, I double checked myself using the schematic..I will shoot Bantam1 a PM..Thanks!
  21. For those of you thinking about putting the bearing for the drive shaft in the Citica E series, don't waste your time and money for the bearing..It won't work! The bearing will go on the shaft like it should but binds up when you put the two screws in that hold the drive shaft, the bearing is too thick and doesn't go far enough in, the factory bushing has two ears on it and is thinner too ..The Citica E200 must have a completely different frame than the Curado E5 or E7...Questions or comments are welcome and if anyone knows of a bearing that will cross reference..This one came came direct from Shimano!
  22. My two favorites, best feeling and lightest combo's: Aldebaran Mg/CUC-72M Core 100/CUC-68MH I have put Rod Grips made by Reel Grips on them because I don't like the slick, EVA grips on them (I use to cringe making a one hand cast because to me,they just have no grip to them) Rod Grips solved that problem! Try em!
  23. Core 100 Aldebaran Mg 2007 Metanium Mg Chronarch 50 mg Curado 200E7 Citica 200E Curado 200B Curado 200B5
