Hey SJ..what is the price that BPS has on the cumara's if you don't mind me asking..

I'm sure you are aware of this steezy but thought I'd throw it out there anyway..If you have braid on it and don't have a mono backing, then the whole spool of line will spin on the spool with the spool remaining stationary, therefore rendering the drag useless...

I've been fishing Shimano baitcasters since I was about 10 yrs old..I'm 40 now..so what does that tell ya

Shimano Core 100 Powell 683c PP or Sufix braid

I've got a Core 100 on mine,very well balanced lightweight and powerful.. I would put the 50 Mg on it over the E7..

Quiet compared to Powerpro but you know it's still braid so your still gonna have some noise!

uni-knot on everything! mono,fluoro,braid,leaders..been using this knot for probably 7-8 yrs..you can tie it in the dark... It's never failed me!

Sufix-(50# & 65#).....Power-pro-(20# & 30#).. I like em both but I like Sufix better! IMHO..Sufix is the best feeling,slickest,strongest,roundest,(lays on spool like mono)most castable braid available! I've tried em all and Sufix wins hands down! ... Good Stuff!

I still have 5 of the Chronarch 100A's that I have had for 10+ yrs that will use on occasion but after upgrading to Cores/07 Metanium MG's /Cumaras and Powells,it is hard to just carry these fishing anymore..I just keep em for memories I guess.

Definately go with the Cumara/Core 50. . A sweet little rig @ less than 10 ounces(cuc-68m)..I'm really enjoying the Core 50 that I purchased from you steezy!!!!!!

Yeah.. I use braid also with a flouro leader..two reasons-sensitivity and if you get hung up and brake off, you don't loose anything but your leader and your hook.

I have a Shimano (JDM) Metanium Mg7 and am having problems getting the roaring out of the reel when reeling only..I can actually hear the gears with just a light load on the real..The feel is smooth though...it is just anoying to me especially with a reel of this price and quality..I do all of my own reel maintenance and also work on other peoples reels..I have 3 Core mgs and none of them have the gear noise @ all and they are basically the same reel the parts will interchange with JDM's..I ordered a new pinion gear that was for the Core MGFV and the gear meshed fine with the current drive gear in the Metanium..I put it back together and it reeled very smooth until you put just a slight load on it and there the gear noise is again..I thought about changing the drive gear but cannot find any inperfections or burs @ all to justify doing so..The only difference in the Core 100 and the Mg7 is the gear ratio..I also have the standard (2007) Mg w/the 6.2:1 gear ratio and the noise is not present..Reel repair guys, What do think? Does anyone else with an Mg7 have this problem?

I fished a tournament on the lake yesterday and it was beyond tough :-/ There we're 12 boats participating in it ;D Out of the 12 boats, I think there was a total of 7 fish caught..First place was 2 fish @ 2.6lbs and second was 1 fish @ 1.8lbs and took big fish honors also :-?(we had that)Anglers discussion @ weigh in was they think the fish are suspended under balls of shad and feeding on them as they die off..What do u think?
